It does seem to keep them warm. Rustles a lot so might not be good if you have a skittish pet, although it didn't seem to bother mine. Its essentially a pocket of material with a zip (fake fleece type on one side, plastic-y on the other side) with a metallic sheet on the inside...unfortunately the inside sheet does seem to move around and get crumpled inside the pocket. Easy to clean though and just take out the middle bit and throw it in the washing machine

Very attractive product, great that you can remove the cover to wash it. Unfortunately my cat did not like like rustling sound the mat made when he walked over it. He would not lie on it so I've decided to give the mat to a friend who has an elderly cat.

Use this in the cat bed outside. Cat took a while to get used to the "crinkle" sound of the foil in the blanket, but once he was used to it, it keeps him warm and reflects his body heat. You could use it without the foil inner, but that's the self heating part of the blanket.

I bought this for my elderly cat as he has taken to sleeping on the floor a lot and I thought it might make things comfier for him. Unfortunately he has not really taken to this. It was a lot thinner than I was expecting and on the odd occasion he has put a paw on it, the insulation inside seems to crackle and I think the noise has put him off a bit. As anyone with a cat knows, you can't force these things so I have left it there in the hope that he will just take to it one day and start using it, although at the moment things are not looking very hopeful.

Bought two as moved house to a three storey. But didn’t realise how thin and noisy the reflective insulation core would be.The noise repels my cat from using it at all...My local charity shop will benefit from them now....

I bought it as most of the reviews (for this and similar products) were saying that this blanket isnt noisy. I have a fussy cat ( as probably all cats ;)) and was worried she wont use it . Surprisingly is loves it even tho its super noisy, is noisy as a plastic shopping bag . Well my cat loves it and it seems to work as well - Ive touch it and its warm. I use it over her bed

My cat is put off by the crinkling noises it makes when walked on... So hasn't used it yet!

The product was soft and easily wiped. And could feel the heat being reflected when I put my hand on it first a few minutes.Unfortunately my cats didn't like the 'foil' type sound when they walked or layed in it.
