Holds my Fly Rod Securely
I don’t wade and cast without it. It holdsmy fly rod securely with or with out using the band that extra secures the rod. A real asset while changing flies. I misplaced it and had to immediately buy this exact same one. Value for the money.

When you need that 3rd hand to help out.
Hadn’t really considered one of these until the other day when being poled along a flat in the Gulf of Mexico and my buddy, whilst poling, needed to keep his rod handy for that split second when he saw fish. The ability to quickly access your rod without taking your eye of the fish is important. Using it for trout fishing I can see that it will keep my rod secure whilst tying on new flies or tippet material. The ability to rotate and position it is a nice feature as well as 2 belt sizes. Overall, a useful gadget.

Will not stay on your wading belt, falls into the water and is gone
I bought this product twice. The first time I used it, the front part of the frame with the rod holders on it simply fell off into the water the first time I tried to use it when I was tried to use it while I was unhooking a fish. It was immediately swept away by the current. I returned the back part of the product and Amazon refunded my money. I purchased another one, thinking that I just didn't know how to use it. I used the second one twice. The first time I used it, it stayed on my wading belt. The second time I used it, the entire back and front of the product somehow dislodged from my wading belt and went into the stream. I was completely unaware that it had happened until I tried to use it again when I was unhooking a fish. This time, I have nothing to send back to Amazon for a refund. Obviously, I won't be buying it again because the product turned out to be utterly useless for me.Andy Johnson, Overland Park, Kansas

Very useful rod holder!!!
When I was fishing in the deep water and caught a fish, I had to hold my rod under my arm and then put fish on the stringer with my two hands. Sometimes when fish was too big and jumped around, my rod would drop into the water accidentally. At that moment, I wish I could have the third hand with which I can hold my rod. So, the rod holder I just bought is my third hand. When you got a fish or you needed to tie a lure or a knot, you can put your rod on the rod holder, and then you can do whatever you want with both hands. You never drop your rod into the river and lose it. Very useful rod holder!

Not made strongly enough
Cannot stay locked in position. The small screw connecting the clip to the base came loose.

Works almost great
The holder itself works pretty good for my rod, but is stiff, so some sizes might not fit.My biggest struggle is that it keeps popping off my belt/strap. It's a narrow 1" strap, and the attachment method makes it easy for it to come detached. Needs a better attachment method. Maybe a much bigger overlap. I nearly lost everything one time, if it weren't for me holding the line in my hand tying on a fly.

Like having a 3rd hand!
Awesome accessory for any fisherman. Mainly use it for my fly rod after landing a fish. Don't need to lay reel on the silt. Or have the silly biting my fly rod photos. Gotta have it
