Bought this for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM1. Due to the lack of a dedicated AC power port on the GM1, this coupler kit is pretty much the only option in order to supply continuous power to the camera whilst mounted on a tripod (or wherever) and not need to worry about the battery going dead half way through a shoot.Very simple to use. You remove the Li-ion battery and insert this coupler unit in the battery compartment. Whilst the battery door is open, gently pull out (slide out) the small plastic square. This allows the door to close over the cable. Be careful not over-pull on the square and detach it. It's on a rubber hinge and will simply bend backwards as the door is closed over the cable.Connect the coupler cable to the long lead of the adapter via the jack, fit the mains cable to the adapter - and you're good to go! .Incidentally, if you're concerned about the cable sticking out being a problem for mounting the camera on a head plate. I've used this on two different heads - including a Manfrotto RC2 plate head and the cable does not get obstructed in any way. But this is something that you can check with your camera and own tripod head before you buy. If the little square plastic cover in the battery compartment lid is visible whilst your head plate is screwed on - then you're ok.One point of interest not mentioned in the description : The cable length from the battery compartment to the adapter is about 2m (including 20cm coupler cable) and although you have about 1m from the adapter to the mains plug (approx. 3 metres in total from plug to camera), be aware that in the unlikely event that you need to mount your camera at or more than 1.9m in height, then the adapter itself will be lifted off the ground.. and the weight of the adapter could pull the jack connection loose!. Otherwise, although only 10cm long, it still means that the adapter needs to be left at the foot of your tripod / monopod - waiting for you to step on it, or worse!Would have been nice to have an extra 50+cm in cable length - but unless you're over 6ft 6", like I said, it's not likely that you would need to position your camera that high.Great addition for your camera accessories at a good price (just under £14). Only the lack of extra cable length stops me giving it a perfect 5.

Love this product! Bought 2 of these for my Lumix GM1 cameras, which act as B-cameras when shooting. The camera's supplied batteries tend to only last around 40mins when filming continuously, so great to have this piece of kit for extend the shooting capabilities. Be wary of overheating when shooting for long periods, this is not a problem with the charger, but the device itself, just something got note.
