Problems at first; but Viofo made it right with excellent support!
**This is an update to my review. Viofo sent me a message after this review posted and offered to send me a replacement wire harness. I agreed and had the harness in hand within 2 days. I removed the defective harness and installed the new one and everything worked perfectly. I still use Viofo exclusively because I think their cameras are quite good. This is the first time I had to use Viofo support for a defective item; and Viofo came through. Viofo really does make great cameras that are very reliable and at a good price point. It was nice to see that Viofo does back up their products when you need it.**I bought this as part of a package deal with a camera for a Christmas gift last year. I finally got around to installing the camera this weekend. I had an awful time getting ACC power to work; but after an hour or so messing around; it miraculously started working. I was never able to get battery (parking mode power) to work. So, after spending hours getting this to work; it stopped working after I buttoned everything up.This isn't my first time wiring a car with a Viofo Camera and hardwire kit. I have done three of my own cars and two of my children's cars. This is clearly a defective hardwire kit. I was surprised to get defective hardware from Viofo; but it happened. I'm sort of disgusted because now I have to buy another and wait. Viofo needs to improve their quality control with their supplier.

Low Profile Mini Fuse F150 Truck
2014 F-150 Installation tips. This item was required as my 12 volt plugs remain connected to the battery even when the ignition is turned off. If you do not purchase this kit you'll find the dash cam will operate 24hrs a daily eventually deadening the battery, unless you unplug it every time. There was plenty of length for the wires to reach from drivers side windshield to the interior fuse box on the passenger side of the truck with a few feet that I looped and tied under the dash. My truck has the low profile mini fuses and the adapter provided doesn't reach the depth required to electrically connect the circuit. My work around was to use the mini fuse adapter which have equivalent connectors and it connected the electrical circuit without modifications. If you need to use this method be sure to have mini fuses on hand to plug into the adapter replace the low profile mini fuse from the vehicle. I didn't realize I needed this kit until after the purchase of the dash cam so missed out on the discount. My advice is to verify the 12 volt plugs in your vehicle turn off with the ignition and if they don't purchase this kit at the same time because you're going to need it.

Works as expected, no complaints
Seems like good quality. I got two and both have been working fine for many months. Love that it comes with multiple fuse connectors, I’ll definitely use the leftovers for other projects. They were quick and easy to install.

A little difficult to set up but includes everything you'll need
I got this to be able to use the parking sensor/recording for my Viofo A229 Plus dashcam system. The package includes fuse attachments for every type of fuse used. Compare to what your vehicle has and attach to the power leads. The most difficult part is deciding which fuse to use - you want to stay away from vital systems like abs braking, engine cpu, etc, instead using something like interior lighting or the like. The other thing is that you need a multimeter or some other way to test the fuse socket to check weather the socket is powered with the ignition off or if it's ACC controlled. You also need to determine which side of the socket has power because the adaptors have an orientation and have to be plugged in with the powered side out. So it's a little finicky to get everything right but I'm not particularly handy and I was able to do it. It would have been nice if they'd used an easier connector then the crimp style but it worked. There is a switch included that allows you to select how low to take your battery before the camera system powers down. I set it in the middle and we'll see if the vehicle starts after 48 hrs. You also have to set the system for parking before it will work. Lots of choices there so I'm going to have to see what works for me.All in all this works fine, I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't included with the camera system. It seems like a bit of a bait and switch to advertise parking sensors but "oh yeah, you have to pay an extra $40 dollars for the part that allows you to use that feature".

Do your research!
I am a trained electronics technician, but I had some reservations about installing this kit. I did a lot of research and upon receiving the kit today took the leap and did the installation, which turned out to be a little cumbersome. I initially had an issue getting the truck's fuse into the circuit tap as it is so small for my large hands (I used a tiny vise to press the fuses into the circuit tap, worked great). I inserted the taps into the fuse slots, got a good ground and upon connecting the power lead my dashcam worked. I then started the engine (dashcam still on), did some voice commands to check dashcam operation, turned off the engine and the dashcam turned off. Did a couple more engine starts/stops with the dashcam powering up and off as the hardwire kit is designed to do. My next test is to see if the off-mode parking sensor works (but that might take me into the app to check/change settings to get it right).

Love it
I did the hardwiring myself. It works great. Just had to read the directions and I mostly referred to YouTube video instruction of similar setups.

Improved cable management for your dashcam
Great product and easy to use.My one complaint is that the wire connections are actually a bit fiddly. I replaced the crimp connectors on mine with Wago ones.Cable management is way easier than with the lighter connector that the Viofo dash cam comes with. It's almost all hidden under the fascia and only shows a bit around the front pylon, but only because I'm not comfortable pulling that up.

A well put kit that works
It would be better if they come with tool free wire connection - it might not be up to automotive standard but I believe most ppl just want a good enough connection without the need of a crimper.
