Cake Knife and Server Set, Silver Plated.

The knife was the reason I bought this set, the server is incidental. I love the extra long and also wider width knife, with a good solid handle. So many of the others have a handle that has odd tapering or carvings that would make it less ergonic to grip it with a good force, or a shorter blade, all of which makes a real difference when you're cutting through a 9X13 sheet cake with substance. I make and cut and serve 9X13 sheet cakes on at least a monthly basis, and the extra length of this blade will enable me to cut all the way across the cake instead of halfway across like with a previous knife, and the handle will also help. A previous knife I had was really pretty the way it tapered but started hurting my hand after I struggled to get through particularly thick cakes such as a 4 inch thick carrot cake for example. There was no other cake knife out there with the extra length and solid handle, and also a nice mirror finish design handle. There were bread cutting knives but I didn't want the sharp serrated edge. There was a decent extra long knife I found made by a food service vendor but it was dull and nothing special, this one is pretty and you want something nice when you have a special occasion cake to serve.

Very good for the price. packaging a bit ode but if you get past that the server and knife are nice!

The items were not just silver, but were two toned and did not fit in with the table setting. Had to use something else

This item is described as silver plated, a factor in my fiance's decision to order this over another similar set. Imagine my surprise when the box clearly said "nickel plated". For the price, this set is nice, and it isn't worth the hassle to return it and find another; but buyer beware that it may not be a perfect color match if you're pairing it with actual silver items.

I had ordered a cheaper set and ended up returning it as it was so flimsy and lightweight, and the finish dull. The extra was well worth it and still a great bargain! The pieces are heavy and very shiny silver plated finish and comes in a very nice gift box as an added bonus.

After looking through many cake server sets I finally was able to find this one that was at a reasonable price and seemed decent quality. I am really happy with my choice and would definitely recommend this set! Doesn't feel cheap and looks just as nice as it does in the pictures. Cute packaging as well.

I bought these for my wedding. They are very well made and sturdy. They can fit a fancy occasion or a informal one. I like that they don't look like cheap metal or plastic cutters you see everywhere else. My only grip is that they tarnished easily. We didn't clean the set for four hours after we cut the cake, and there was a tarnish spot. I haven't used tarnish remover yet on it because it is so small. But even if it doesn't come off, its still something I like enough to keep. Also when I bought this from amazon, there is no engraving option just FYI.
