I needed a new mattress protector to cover a recently purchased new mattress for our spare bedroom single bed. I’ve bought many Silentnight offerings over the years and have not been disappointed as of yet, so this was my brand of choice when searching for a new mattress protector.I like this particular model because its quilted, which offers extra warmth and comfort when covered by a fitted bottom sheet. The quilting trapping in the air at the same time as increasing the comfort level of the sleeper.But thats not the only function of a mattress protector as a good mattress is expensive . I chose this protector also because it offers high absorbency of any perspiration that you may generate when sleeping and further protects your mattress from body oils and creams if you apply these to your skin, which I do following a bath/shower etc.This arrived very well packaged in a branded thick plastic pack and upon taking it out of the packaging and inspecting it I found it to be as I hoped. Of an excellent quality and a snowy pure white in colour. The quilting felt nice to the touch and is of a decent thickness.It comes in at a standard single mattress size fitting of 90 cm X 190 cm and after stripping off the single bed in the spare room down to the mattress last night, I found it to fit perfectly. Its elasticated corners securing it to the mattress well and the sides being long enough to tuck underneath securely. Its not going to be going anywhere even if someone sleeps restlessly on it I wouldn’t imagine.The cover is crafted from poly cotton and has a hollow fibre filling. Its snow white and the stitching on the quilting is all perfect. Its also fully machine washable and comes with a 2 year guarantee.I am delighted with it and think it offers those looking for a mattress protector the best of what you want, at an excellent price.Highly Recommended!!

I needed a new single mattress for my spare room so I ordered a budget one for £50 that seemed ok and left it 24hrs as it said, to fully inflate. In the meantime I was awaiting a mattress protector as my other one was in the wash. Finally it arrived and I quickly took it out the bag and was astonished to find a flimsy kyley like sheet with elasticated fittings that did not fit the mattress properly leaving a gap on either side!! I thought this is a joke, right?. I put it on anyway just to be sure and it looked ridiculous with the edges squeezed to fit and hardly offered any protection with the sides exposed. I quickly took it off to avoid any damage to the new mattress and filed for a refund. I was relieved to get my old protector back on from the wash which actually fits the entire mattress and sides properly. I don't know what this is, but it's not a mattress protector, that's for sure and neither is it the one they advertise in the picture. If anything it's a defective item that should never have been sent. I was later also astonished to see a red label marked > Not Quite Perfect< on the cover which explains it all. Someone needs to get the boot at Character Linens as this is not a joke I appreciate just before xmas. I won't ever be using them again and have marked them down in my black book of rogue traders.PS. They later responded and said they would issue me a refund immediately, although dubiously claimed the item was designated NQP in their listings which was false; even if it was why are they selling less than perfect products anyway?? How they get away with selling useless defective items that are not fit for purpose is beyond me. Jokers.

Good things. Does the job for when the kids have accidents. Steps ping off now and again but to be expected with deep mattresses. Overall happy with them
