Best bit of kit I have bought for a while
I bought this tripod crossbar about a week ago. It came well boxed and with a decent storage bag. It was very easy to assemble and fit to my Kenro tripod. It appears to be well made and mine did not suffer from any slackness in the arm as others have described. My ball head also fits perfectly and feels secure. I like the included small ball head that can be fitted along the other end of the bar, I found this ideal for my Camera monitor. (see pictures). This monitor is really needed when you cant get in close to the viewfinder or lcd screen to fix your focus. I also have a remote shutter cable.I did find that with just a camera on one end that the tripod had a tendency to tip forward but by putting the front tripod leg further forward eliminated this problem. There is a small hook supplied that can be fitted into the end of the bar so another idea would be to carry a tent peg and a length of string, this would also prevent the tripod tipping.. I have used it in the garden and am very pleased how stable the whole setup is and is ideal for close flower or mushroom photography but for insects I think they will have flown away by the time you get set up. My tripod also came with a 6" centre post so I can get down really low when necessary.
