The Khanda is an important symbol in Sikhism. Made up of a double edged sword, the khanda, a metaphor of Divine knowledge. The circle is the Chakar which symbolizes the perfection of God who is eternal. This is surrounded by two curved swords called Kirpans. These symbolize Meeri and Peeri, Temporal and Spiritual authority.
