I bought this book because I'm familiar with Jill Donovan and was already a big fan of her awesome jewelry business, Rustic Cuff...But also because she has done SO much for the lives of so many in our community through her genuine spirit of loving on people...This book was SO MUCH MORE than what I thought I was getting. I expected it to be funny (because if you know Jill Donovan, you know she is funny) What I didn't expect was the depth of the inspiration I would get from this book. She is so relatable. She is so real. And she inspires me to be push through the inconvenience of being obedient when God nudges me to do something. She shared beautiful examples of how often that little inconvenience can impact people in ways we may never know...She has such insight on love, loss, family and faith. I laughed a lot...cried a little... then bought 10 more books to give to everyone I know!

Enjoyed this book very much! The author’s transparency is both inspiring & delightful in her accounts of personal revelations!A great gift idea for anyone on your gift list!

I thought the content was just OK; a few good ideas. But as I was reading this I felt like Donovan was trying way too hard to show the world how great she is. Throughout the entire book she talks about her amazing life style and her accomplishments. She comes across a bit pious. I thought her message was lost in the all the unnecessary autobiography. I had such high expectations for this book but was terribly disappointed. I couldn't finish reading it. I gave this 2 stars because I do like her advice of dreaming big and not letting our negative thoughts hold us back. She had some good advice but it's hard to find it through all the self promotion.

Jill knocks it out of the park! This book will stir your emotions and send your brain into overdrive. The heart rendering stories touches your spirit and leaves you changed. Take a break from your hectic world and allow this book to capture you. Embrace all it has to offer. I have a feeling this book will at the very least cause you to think twice about who you encounter daily. Love seeing the world through the authors heart. The Kindness Effect is a treasure with a lasting ripple.

Admission: This is the first book I have taken the time to read in several years. Knowing Jill, I purchased it thinking I already knew everything about what the book would have in it, and planned to gift it, as I knew it would be good. I picked it up to skim through, and ended up reading it completely. Turns out I din't know as much as I thought I did. Love the book. Love Jill. Happy tears all the way through. Kindness is contagious. Catch the disease.

I bought this book because I thought it would be an interesting read. It was so much more! From the first pages I was hooked. Even if you don't know it's author or her business it is worth the read. It is a warm real story about a personal journey of its author. The story made me feel, relate and learn. I wish I had read it long ago if only it existed! Everyone regardless of age sex and race or life will benefit reading. I already bought a second copy as a gift.

I ordered this book because I am Rustic Cuff fan!! I live in Tulsa where Jill Donovan started her company. This book is absolutely amazing!! It really is just like talking Jill herself!! She is an inspiration to many of us who collect and wear her Cuffs and other creations! She really is a very kind person and goes out of her way to make each person feel like they are special!! The book is great, just like I knew it would be!!

Quick and easy read. I enjoyed reading how Jill decided to accomplish one new thing a year. But then through those experiences she found ways to bring kindness to others. The book inspires you to never give up and to always be generous and kind!
