Love it so much!
I love Clover hooks, but lately my thumb has become sore. I tried the Tulip and loved it! It is smooth where the Clover was chafing. The grip is perfection for my knife hold. I couldn’t be happier.

Disappointing
This Tulip Etimo hook was recommended by a friend so I decided to try just one. The shaft is shorter than the Boye I usually use and the hook is more shallow, allowing the yarn to slip out repeatedly. It’s an in-line hook, rather than a taper. The handle is comfortable enough but I’m glad I didn’t get an entire set.

Not impressed.
No matter what yarn I tried it would slip off the hook. For me it's just not worth it I'll keep using Boye hooks.

Best Crochet hooks on the planet.
These are the best crochet hooks by far. Easy to grip, ergonomic. I can crochet for at least an hour before taking a break. I highly recommend.

Caron Tulip Etimo Crochet
I bought this one Caron Tulip Etimo Hook, Size H/8 to compare it to the Clover Takumi Getaway Soft Touch Crochet Hooks Gift Set that I had purchased to see if there was a big difference. I got a really good deal on Amazon on the Clover set but I wanted to be sure I had the most comfortable product.Clover Takumi: handle length 3-3/4", needle shaft length 1-1/2"Caron Tulip Etimo: handle length 3-15/16", needle shaft length 1-9/16", overall longer than CloverClover Takumi handle is ABS resin with comfort grip thumb rest which is a little wider than TulipCaron Tulip Etimo handle is a softer elastomeric material, but with a slightly narrower width at thumb rest area than the Clover.Perceptually is appears as if the Caron Tulip hook is deeper because of the shape, but looking closely at the angle and depth of just the hook itself, it looks to me like the Caron and Clover are almost identical.I would prefer the softer elastomer of the Tulip and believe it would be easier on the hands as many probably would, but for my hand the handle is just a little bit long where it rests on my palm and I prefer the slightly wider width of the Clover at the thumb placement, whether holding the crochet hook like a pencil or like a fork. It basically comes down to what is more comfortable in each persons own hand. I would buy one of each and try them both before I bought a set. For me I am happy with the Clover especially since I got the Clover set for $27 on Amazon in August 2012. Both the Clover and the Tulip are approx. $58 today and both have 8 hooks.I cannot attest to how long each would last because I only just bought them both recently, others may have more experience with durability than I do. Hope this is of some help, even if only to encourage you to try both.

Tulip 🌷 is my new favorite
I really like this hook and plan to buy more. I bought the 5.5 mm. (Not the pink silicone Tulip. I don't know them.) For the price I was concerned it was just another glorified hook. It's not. Good value. Comfortable. I love it . I recommend. Fits right in my arthritic hand . Doesn't cause any fatigued in my hand. I think it would also be good as a first hook for kids. Very ergonomic. I plan to get one each for my 13 year old twin girls.

Can't go wrong with a Tulip Etimo Hook
Love these hooks. Smooth, perfect throat and point for the way I crochet. The grip doesn't get tacky. Very long lasting. I've had this hook for years now. It's the same as the day I received it.

lovely hook, but just too short & narrow for me to use comfortably without pain in my hand
I thought I would try out one of the Tulip Etimo crochet hooks to see what all the hype was about how comfortable the hook was, and I must say I was a sadly disappointed. It is a really nice hook and the ergonomic coating feels very nice in your hand even nicer than the Clover Amour hook covering. The Tulip Etimo hook has a hook head shape very much like the Clover Amour hooks which I like, but the Tulip hook is smoother and shinier, and a bit more slippery which can be an advantage depending on what your are working on. The overall length of the Tulip hook is a bit shorter than the Clover Amour, and this is were I find it a problem as I hold my crochet hook in the knife grip, so the end of the handle rubs on the inside of my palm on the pinky finger side and it is not comfortable and I do not have a really large hand as the palmer surface of my hand when I put my hand palm side down on a ruler from the baby finger side to the thumb side is only 3 1/2 ", and measuring from where my index finger holds the hook to where the baby finger palm edge of my hand ends diagonally is only 4". I also find that as much as I like the bump in the ergonomic handle cover to keep my thumb from sliding forward that the hook even with the extra ergonomic covering the handle is too narrow for my arthritic hands even with the 5.0 mm hook ... it would be worse with the smaller sizes as the covering on the hooks only gets smaller or larger depending on the width of the actual metal hook it is covering instead of being a more uniform size regardless of the size of the metal hook under the ergonomic covering, like they do in the Clover Amour hooks. I have tried and really wanted to love this hook but every time I use it I end up with severe pain and cramps running down the back of my hand after just a few minutes. I suspect that if you held your hook in the pencil grip it might be much more comfortable, but I simply cannot hold my hook in the pencil grip even before I developed arthritis in the hands. If I did not have arthritis in my hand it might feel much better to use even with the knife grip, but I did try using the Tulip Etimo hook when I had no pain in my hand as well as when my hand was stiffer/sorer with an arthritic flare up and it was uncomfortable and painful both times but I had to put it down much faster IE after only a few stitches if my hand was sore or a bit achy at all. I was going to splurge and get a full set if I found this hook comfortable but alas I am not going to as I just do not find working with this hook comfortable at all. I would suggest you get a single hook and try it out before getting the set like I did. They are really nice hooks but just not for me.
