Disc Drive For PS5 Digital Edition Consoles (slim)

Popped on my PS5 Pro and has worked like a charm for the last few months. Not sure I can 'review' this more extensively other than validating my PS5 Pro reads discs now and was easy to install. That said the most 'difficult' part of installing was figuring out how to remove the side panel of the console which only took a minute or so.

It's a bummer that this wasn't included with the PS5 Pro. But for what it's worth and especially for is "disc users" this disc drive is pretty solid.It plays both PS4 & PS5 disc's games easily and I appreciate the fact that if you insert the disc incorrectly (as I did the first couple of times), it doesn't get loud and violent and break or so. You'll get an error on screen to say the the disc is unreadable by which you just need to eject rhe disc and flip it over and it's all good to go.The installation was pretty simple as well. Except that gut renching feeling you get when you have to remove the PS5's lower side panel and sounds like you're about to break it. Otherwise it's all good.

I was worried I would need some sort of knowledge or know how to install this on my ps5 pro, but to my surprise it was an easy 3 step process. First I pop off the white shell covering where the drive was to go then put the one end in first then press down the other snapped in, then power on and put in disc! No worries or plugs just line the disc drive up and press in easy peezy! Was worth the upgrade I still believe owning a disc is better than owning a digital copy, best part was it was the same price as Walmart or GameStop yet I didn’t have to take the drive!

Hate that playstation has decided to sell the disc separate but it is a useful device. Upgraded from the base PS5 to the digital slim. It was very needed.

Got it for my ps5 pro. Very easy to install. I noticed it can get a little loud. It almost makes me want to play digital just to preserve the disc drive longer. The ps5 is an ugly system and it does make the system look more unappealing. But I bought the all black to make it look decent. I’m probably gonna buy another one eventually if I can get a deal on it

The drive was easy to install and worked perfectly. I installed it in a ps5 pro.

Purchased this “accessory” to use with my new PS5 Pro model. While I think it is ridiculous that it doesn’t come with to for $700 - the disc driver does what its supposed to do, and looks good.

Disk drive works on the PS5 Pro, no issues. It’s nice to not actually buy something like this at scalper prices.
