Perfect Cordless Heating Cap for Salon Type Hair Treatments at Home!
I am super excited about this cordless heating cap and have already used it four times in less than 2 weeks for various hair conditioning treatments. I recently made the mistake of lightening my all natural, healthy, dark brown hair to achieve a more "summery" look. I loved the way my hair looked at the salon, but the next day after I washed it, my hair looked and felt like straw. I frantically purchased a bunch of deep condition masks, including the Olaplex treatment that they had used at the salon. Since the treatments usually work best with heat, I did tons of research on an at-home heat conditioning cap and decided to buy this one. I am so glad that I did!The cap itself is extremely sturdy and has these gel pockets that I believe help to retain the heat. I love that the cap is cordless and very convenient to use. I was able to vacuum my apartment, cook, and even send some Snapchats, all while having my hair treated! I typically microwave the cap for 2 minutes, and it retains heat for a good 15-20 mins. If I want a longer treatment, I just microwave the cap for another 30 seconds or so. Although I have only used the cap several times, I can tell that it works because it has made a HUGE difference in the way my hair looks. My hair is much shinier and healthier looking. I wish I had a picture of how stringy and unhealthy my hair looked prior to using the cap, but I posted one of how my hair looked after doing my first at-home Olaplex treatment :)

This is a very handy, useful product.
I used this after applying a hair mask to my long hair. I had read about people experiencing it "bursting" or "blowing up" in their microwave so instead of heating it on the high power setting (10), I reduced the power setting to eighty percent (8) while heating it for the suggested amount of time. It came out of the microwave plenty hot enough and about halfway through the hair mask treatment (twenty minutes), I popped it back in the microwave at the same setting and reheated it. This worked great. While I was wearing this I suddenly realized that this could also serve as a great source of heat during the winter months. Just pop it in the microwave and then wear it around the house to stay warm (if you aren't concerned about how you look, that is). Keeping your ears warm is one of the best ways to avoid getting sick and this cap could be a great aid in avoiding getting a cold or flu bug (earmuffs work great too!). A very good purchase and it worked fantastic with the hair mask.

NO INSTRUCTIONS! it MELTED
NO INSTRUCTIONS! Nonetheless, i pop it in the microwave for 3.5 minutes - only to pull it out and see that there's melted goo inside and on the outside of this VERY SMALL cap. when i come back here to amazon for guidance it is then that i see that on the first time i should have have dipped it in warm water and some OTHER things. "NOTICE: When you first time use it, you'd better put it in to the hot water to preheat the cap for about 5 mins, then using a dry towel wrap it. And being heated by the micro wave first time, should be in small fire for 30 seconds to test the cap. Please no more than 2 mins when you put in in the micro wave"

No Instruction, Busted in microwave
I purchased this product because of the good reviews taking note that many of the reviews stated that there was lack of instructions. We used the cap twice. The first time we heated min by min until we saw it expand and removed from microwave. That was about 4 minutes in total. The next use, we heated for 4 minutes straight, but heard a loud pop at minute 2. The gel leaked out and we can no longer use the heating cap. I will look for another brand. I can not return the unit so it was wasted $

I bought this after I purchased an electric hairdryer...
Don’t buy an electronic hairdryer!!!! This cap works wonders, plus you will love the freedom of being able to do other things while you deep condition or give yourself a hot oil treatment. Hands down the best way to get heat on your head. I heat mine for 1 minutes and 30 seconds no more, it last about 25 minutes once heated. It has a nice snug fit, but I use a Plastic bag underneath it to keep it clean and nice. Highly recommend.

Worked great for almost 2 months!
I'll admit, this cap worked wonderfully for almost two months. I have African-American, type 4c hair with low porosity, and this cap really helped my leave-in conditioner and oil treatments to absorb; I noticed my hair was softer and my curls more defined when I washed out my hair treatments after using this cap, and all it takes is a quick 2 minutes in the microwave on low, then you have a cord-free heating cap. However, sadly 2 weeks short of two months, it has started oozing some weird gel out of one place in the inside of the cap. I'm guessing this gel is what holds the heat in. I always watch it in the microwave, so it didn't pop or anything, it just oozes the gel slowly when pressure is applied to that one area. So all in all, if you're looking for longevity, this cap definitely is not for you, but if you're just looking to have great, healthy hair for a month or so, I would otherwise recommend it, or just find a similar product with a warranty on it....

Does what it needs to do, but you’re going to miss out on comfort
Great buy for the price. With a minute on each sides, it provides plenty of warmth for my 20 minute deep conditioning sessions. On the down side, it is made of thick plastic which is not very comfortable around the edges or your hair. It leaks and tilting your head is not comfortable as the plastic digs into your hairline occasionally. One the bright side, I don’t have to worry about the plastic getting dirty as it’ll be easy to wipe clean. The plastic caps it comes with are adorably and convieniently folded, but are cheap and flimsy. They rip everyone, I put one on. So you’ll want to invest in some better ones and just toss these. If you don’t mind spending the extra cash I’d recommend, buying the high end version. It looks super soft and malleable which would make moving around the house much more comfortable (which is the whole point). For me, however, it’s a great product and gets the job done. I’ll use it until it fails me and purchase the more expensive version next time.
