Poetic Emsa 512668 SIENA NOBILE round planter, ø 26 x 19 cm, pearl white

Had hoped to put Christmas tree outside but need draining holes

My Siena Nobile Round Planters “32cm” arrived today and yet again the box was banged up. “Trust in Hermes UK to know how to bang up your Boxes” as these items are plastic they can easily crack but as luck would have it they weren’t. Anyway, got them out and they are just lovely, I ordered two of the red ones as I want to plant some sort of small bush type trees in them and I’m not sure what yet but maybe two white Rose Bushes would look good as they are contrasting colours “Red Planter & White Rose Bushes” and the come every year and are very little maintenance to them.The Planters although plastic are made from good quality and are thicker than I thought they would be allowing me to drill five holes in the bottom with a size 10 drill bit without fear of the bottom splitting or cracking “unlike them planters you buy in the pound shop which almost all crack when I try this”.They have an advantage to being plastic, in the winter, you can leave them outside without fear of the frost busting them. They are also lighter than clay pots to carry and these look good. I wondering will they fade through time but time will tell.I have included a few images for you if you’re thinking of purchasing them. As there is no soil in them when I took the images, no doubt they will look slightly darker with soil in them.I’m glad I bought them and they will certainly draw your friends eyes when they are out in your garden having a wee dram.

Although I have put lightweight and sturdy, this pot is both, it's not heavy but is perfectly sturdy when planted, I have several of these pots, and am extremely pleased with them, good quality and good value.

This planter is a really nice size for my outside patio, it holds at least two bedding plant and a trailer. I got it as it seemed to look ceramic but has the advantages of plastic as far as weight and moveability are concerned. I hate having to lug ceramic planters around but they do look much better than the cheap fake terracotta I was using.They are very shiny and glazed looking, my husband thought they were ceramic when he saw them. They are very light and easy to drill (they places to drill are marked on the bottom) I would say they take around 20l of compost, maybe a little less with the plants. The plastic is not brittle and drilled with no problems. They will crack if you are careless though.The colour is very deep and lovely, although beware that in certain lights it can look similar to the pink pot in this range if you want a mix of colours. This goes lovely with the plants I chose and brightens up the patio nicely. I mixed it up and bought a few colours in the range and they look great together. Will definitely buy again.

Very please with the planter. I do have one slight complaint in that the colour is a brighter red than illustrated, hence four stars, but apart from that it is fine.

Emsa 508686 Plant Pot Ruby Red 32 cm is one planter which is made from top quality products. The actual plastic is a good firm plastic which has stood up to our rain, wind, and so much more and still keeps its shine - I have to be exact and say the shine or quality has not deteriorated in anyway. I love these pots as not only do they hold the plants which I primarily bought them for, with the added bonus of the beautiful ruby colour really adds an extra dimension to my garden. I actually have returned and bought three more I love them so much. The only flaw I have with them is due to the fact if you want to plant your flowers or bushes straight into the Emsa Ruby red pot you must be able to drill your own drainage holes as the manufacturer mark the holes, I had to get someone to drill them for me ... it only took a few minutes therefore I am happy to recommend the Emsa 508686 to anyone who wants to add style to their garden as well as a great quality planter/pot.

Disappointed when this arrived I was expecting drainage holes but there is not any, am I supposed to drill them out? if so I would have to buy a drill reading back over product description it does say drainage holes are an option but there is nowhere on the order form to make an allowance for that.For heavbens sake I am an 80 years old woman all I want to do is make my garden nice I am not a jobbing handyman.Make your order form clear.
