I've built up quite an arsenal of scribers for my scale modelling over the years. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and they all serve different purposes. This set is very interesting, with blades that cover a range of uses from scribing to acting as a miniature chisels. The quality is good - and they are certainly sharp enough for working with styrene. The handle is useful, but you can also hold the blades without it for finer control. It's a good value set that warrants its place on the workbench.

The blades need honing to be truly sharp, which takes just a few minutes for each. Once done, it's an indispensible modeling tool. Ideal for cutting photoetch from the fret without deforming the part.

The tool is very good at what it does. You just have to have patience and not press on let the tool do the work.

Good quality, very sharp

Looked not too bad for the first 5 minutes. There is a tiny grub screw to fix the weapon of choice to the handle. Getting this screw started into the handle was a days work itself. It maywell of been the item I was dealt but the tapping of the hole was awful.. I had to dig out the tap & die set to remedy the offending hole. Otherwise I found the set adequate for the task at hand. Quite sturdy with well sharpened blades...
