Good Varnish
This is good matte varnish. Until I ordered this, I had only used the gloss. I really like this better. It goes on smooth, and it dries quickly. My only problem is that it takes no time at all to go through the whole bottle. Even so, I'll be ordering more.

Works well
Applies easily. It’s fairly thin, didn’t leave brush marks and didn’t cause any change of color (used on acrylic paint on canvas). The matte finish is very nice, meaning it’s basically not noticable. There was no flaking or cracking. There is no way to know how well it lasts, but it seems like a good choice.

i recommend
Great for rock painting. We have a little thing around northern Michigan where people leave painted rocks all over. I wanted to paint some and use the varnish to protect them. The matte is perfect for this. I let dry over night. Good to have this small amount and fuss with a can.

Bluebird Acrylic Varnish for Painting, Matt
I am new to the painting world specifically the acrylic painting world. I have been painting ceramic vases, wood, picture frames and other acrylic items and was needing a top coat/protective coat. I prefer matt over other finishes because it isn't shiny and just appears to me more aesthetically pleasing. I was really happy to find a finish that was matt so that the items that I was painting would be protected in a finish that was more desirable. Applying the finish was easy and I really didn't have any issues. I could see temporarily where the finish was applied which I appreciated to ensure I protected the entire surface and didn't go over the same place repeatedly. It did dry clear and matt therefore I am beyond happy with it. So far the items have remained protected and have not noticed a yellowing or deterioration in anyway. The items seem to protected nicely and I truly have no complaints!

Spread as you pour!
I got this to cover a painting on a phone case... and screwed up the whole thing. The thing is, if you plan to spread this along a canvas or any other surface, spread the varnish immediately as you deposit it from the bottle. Do not pour all over and let it stand while you eventually get to every part. This is where I went wrong. I poured a bit over the leaf in pic 1, and by the time i closed the container and started spreading the varnish, it has already dried in a ring where it was poured, and remained white and icky like that. The container says "water reducible" so i tried to add water and remove the white rings with my brush, but it only messed up the painting as in image 2. I redid the painting and finally applied a bit of the varnish just from bottle to brush which finally worked as it should have from the start.I like the matte, and the varnish does hold up after it dries.TLDR: this is not the kind of varnish you can pour over your art and then spread as you go, it will dry in glue rings and be so difficult to fix. If you apply bit by bit, though, dipping your brush and applying immediately, this will work great.
