Works the Chromebook if you have no WI-FI
I use my Chromebook to watch downloaded yoga videos from Amazon Video. I wanted to connect my Chromebook to the TV in the community clubhouse where I don't have access to the WI-FI code.After Googling it, I found out I could use the USB-C port with an HDMI adapter and HDMI cable. I had my doubts it would work because Chromebook doesn't seem to be compatible with much of anything. It took 4 printers before I found one that works most of the time. Anyway, I digress.The adapter does work and here are the steps in case this is your first try.Plug the adapter into the USB-C port (flat oval looking).Plug the cable into an HDMI port on the TV. Note which port your using.Connect the cable to the adapter.Turn on the TV and Chromebook.Go to Inputs on the TV and click on the HDMI port you're using.Go to settings on the Chromebook and go to "display". Click on "mirror".Go to a video on the Chromebook and hit "play".The video will display on the TV. The sound will also come from the TV so adjust your sound with the TV remote.

Will not work with my phone, but with my galaxy tab, no problem.
I wanted to stream from my tablet to my not smart TV. Works great.

Adapter for classroom use....
Although the cable isn't as long as I'd like it to be this was easy to use! It matched perfectly, feels like great quality, and worked for what I needed!!!!

I do not recommend this brand
I ordered two of these adapters so that I could extend or duplicate my laptop screen on to a external monitor. They worked only for a few period of time. The laptop will not recognize that the external monitor is available. I tried both of these adapters and they do not work. I tried another adapter and it did work.
