California Umbrella 9' Round Aluminum Market Umbrella, Crank Lift, Auto Tilt, Bronze Pole, White Olefin

I am very happy with this patio umbrella. The color is bright, and has not shown any signs of fading, although it has only seen about two months of use so far. The fabric is of nice weight, better than several that I have gotten over the years at the big box stores and provides much needed shade on the deck. I love the tilting mechanism! It works smoothly and automatically tilts once the umbrella is fully opened. Just keep turning the crank, and it begins to tilt. One thing I noticed is that when the umbrella is tilted, it has a tendency to rotate with even a slight breeze. I ended up drilling a hole in the pole for the screw in my stand to go through, and that stopped the spinning of the canopy. At first I was concerned about the pole snapping off near the crank as others have posted, but this umbrella has stood up to quite a few VERY strong storms in our area with no problems. I use my umbrella in a 17 lb stand and patio table, which provides some extra support. It handles breezy conditions well, but due to the light weight of the frame, you must close the canopy in windy conditions or it will topple over, table and all, unless you have a more heavy duty stand. I would buy this umbrella again.

The media could not be loaded.  We purchased 5 of these black umbrellas over the past year and I am pleased to report that they have all fared really really well. The fabric is really nice and withstands fading (if you cover them!), the mechanisms work great, they tilt nicely and overall we have been very pleased. We also purchased really nice umbrella covers and keep them closed/covered when not in use and through much trial and error we found amazing rolling bases that work great so we can move the umbrellas to match sun coverage. (Both those items on Amazon too!) So we finally have a fabulous umbrella set up and I’m excited to share this review to help others!

The California Umbrella is easy to assemble and deploy. It's gets to be a little hard to crank to go into tilt mode, but not bad. I've only had the umbrella couple months and used it maybe 15 times. We'll see how it holds up. So far, so good.

Fabulous umbrella! Looks great and the dark pole against the white canvas is striking. Tilts easily with no cranking. Could not be happier with this and cannot beat such a great price for such a nice product.

Needed a new umbrella for the front patio and wanted a true Hunter or emerald green and this umbrella is perfect! Very strong and the right amount of shade. Our house is high on a hill so we get a lot of wind but it hasn’t taken flight all summer! It does have ties to keep it tied up. I put Scotch guard spray on it to keep it from fading even though this umbrella isn’t supposed to fade but I didn’t want to take a chance since the last one which was another inferior product faded so much it looks tan! Highly recommend!

I've ordered two of these umbrellas and for whatever reasons, they do not arrive? I order from Amazon all the time. So much I should be getting a birthday card from Bezos, but for some reason, they have lost two umbrellas. How do you lose a 9' umbrella?And the one umbrella I did get blew over in the wind and was broken beyond repair. Our previous umbrella, which admittedly cost twice as much, lasted us five or six years.

Product is built well and functions well. Fabric is durable and matches the color of my other two.

The umbrella looks good. But I would not say it will last. Day one- squeaks while cranking it open. Besides the regular clicking of the crank. The housing for the crank is plastic and feels like if I squeeze it a little too hard, it will crack. the top finial is also plastic. The crank housing is shiny plastic while the top finial is more of a matte plastic.It is very light. Almost lifted out of the umbrella holder during some wind. Make sure you tighten the umbrella into your base holder.The fabric is thinner than most umbrellas but it's fine for the price and nice enough. Probably a good choice for a small table.The umbrella looks nice but I am going to return it and get a better quality. This umbrella is consistent with the price.

We were looking for an umbrella exactly like this to replace our old umbrella that was 40 years old. Nothing wrong with that one but we wanted a bright colour so chose this bright green. It had the features we wanted; crank to go up and down and to tilt. We love it!

It even flew away once from strong winds, flew up on the roof of her residence and then flew back on the ground from her 4 story building (I had told her not to leave it open during stormy weather, but...) and to my surprise, it was totally perfect. Nothing bent, nothing ripped etc. Definitely strong.
