These are my new absolute favorite treat. My husband loves them, too. I honestly wish I could buy them five pounds at a time (and contacted the company directly to find out if I could; sadly, they’re not set up for that yet). They're intensely satisfying, sweet but not too sweet, and put me in mind of dark-chocolate-covered espresso beans but with an addictive toasty burnt-sugar flavor instead of coffee flavor, and none of the smooth “chocolate” mouth-feel. They're super crunchy. The cocoa bean bits are easier to chew up than coffee bean bits, though, and don't feel as sandy or gritty as espresso beans can. I also love, intellectually, that they're whole cocoa beans instead of refined chocolate. Cocoa beans have a great nutritional profile. They taste like something someone *made*, not something some corporation mass *produced*. Like maybe your grandmother made them once a year for a holiday treat, if your grandmother was unbelievably cool. Mind you, the teenagers in my house don't care for them, as they find them not sweet enough and I think too much of a crumbly mouthful, but that just means they won’t eat them all before the adults can!

We bought some of these in Costa Rica and loved them so much. Was super excited that we could order them online so that we can enjoy them at home in cold Ohio! Absolutely delicious! Expensive, but worth it! And they were expensive in Costa Rica too- so no difference there.

This is so expensive for the amount you get, but so tasty too. Not for once a week, but it's great for a treat once in a while.

These are really good and don't have as much sugar. They are chocolate without being chocolatey, tasty, crunchy, I have a hard time keeping myself from just eating up the bag! I've already ordered another bag just to make sure I don't run out. Similar to chocolate coated espresso beans, but much better.

These things are great and quite addictive. You just don’t get much for your money. Quality is great. Taste has that slight bitterness from the cacao bean but with that carmelized candy like coating it is surprisingly wonderful. I’ve been loving the chocolate espresso beans for years and thought I’d try the cacoa bean. These are not quite as gritty as the espresso bean which is a plus. I just wish they were comparable in volume to the chocolate espresso bean.

I appreciate the caramelized cacao bean for what it is. The price for the amount was off balance.
