I've been teaching my oldest granddaughter to play Chess, and she's fascinated by the Knight - both for its unusual mode of attack (two spaces up, one across) and for its visualization. She asked, "Why is it a horse instead of a knight in armor?" Good question! I was pleasantly surprised by this statue - it's bigger than I expected (in the photo you'll see a quarter for size reference), it's solid, beautifully formed and a lovely brass color. It looks great on display. A great gift for any fan of Chess! Recommended!

This is a cool display item, if you're a chess fan. I guess you could use it as a trophy if you wanted, but I just put it on my home office shelf.

The piece I received didn't seem as well painted and polished as the one in the picture, but looks more aged which isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is a decent sized decoration and wasn't as heavy as I thought it'd be, it's actually pretty light. I'm not sure what it means by the material is resin, but this doesn't feel like it would survive a fall very well or hold up books as a book end. The bottom is not felt and is pretty much uncovered, so it can slide around a little more easily. Nice as a stand alone decoration.

When this arrived I was surprised by it's size, I am a chess fanatic and thought it would be neat to put on my shelf by my desk, it's a bit larger than expected but not a bad thing at all. Seems smooth and well made, I may paint it ivory or black but I really do like it and would recommend for the chess fan in your life.

When I touch it the covering colors come off at my finger tips.
