easy to install
East to install and use, I was able to install it within 20 minutes and I'm not an electrician. You just need a double pull 20 amp box to insert, turn off the main breaker and follow directions. We will see if it works when we need it.

Peace of mind for tech owners
I've got a ton of expensive computer and content creation in my house and am well aware of the potential damage that can be caused by lightning. I guess I've been fortunate but I've had a couple of motherboards blown out over time. I always get good surge protection at the source but recently I picked up this unit to provide whole house protection. Since I let my electrician install it I can't tell you much about the installation process though it took him about 45 minutes from start to finish. Basically, it's just another layer of protection. Hard to assess the incremental improvement over just using per unit surge protection but every little bit helps. We've had some severe storms over the past couple of months with plenty of lightning but no damage to my electronics. Recommended!

Peace of mind device
I have been wanting a whole-home surge protector for a while now. Did some looking around and acquired this one only after determining that Bad Wolf's products definitely seem to be well-made and well-received by those who've purchased similar models.Now..... The ONLY way I can actually tell you if this works or not is if we get popped by Mother Nature during a classic Louisiana summer cloudburst. I REALLY don't want that kind of test to be applied, but if it does not serve the purpose, then this will be revised. But honestly.... if $250 today can save you $3-5k (or much much more) in fried appliances and electronics down the line, then who wouldn't?Installation-wise - yes, always better to have a qualified, licensed, and bonded electrician handle things like this. Like actually please do because 240VAC can end a person pretty instantly if you forget to turn something off or touch the wrong thing. Now.... do you have a trustworthy buddy, coworker, cousin, or fella who knows another fella that is capable of wiring something to your panel? Great! Still consider the safer option. ;) You'll be adding a 20a double pole breaker as close to your main breaker as possible. Doesn't take long at all. I suggest a small electrical enclosure to place this inside instead of just letting it hang out in the corner of your panel.

Ensuring Electrical Safety.
Living in an area prone to thunderstorms, the safety and security of my home's electrical system is a top priority. That's why I was looking for enhanced peace of mind, especially during storm seasons. The standout feature of this surge protector is its robust power defense capabilities. With a massive 200kA surge current rating, it's designed to shield all electronics in my home from surges, ensuring that everything from my kitchen appliances to my home theater system is protected against sudden voltage spikes.Lightning strikes are a common cause of power surges, but the advanced lightning protection components of this unit effectively guard against direct strikes. This feature is particularly valuable because it helps prevent the extensive damage that can result from surges caused by nearby lightning impacts. It’s comforting to know that my home is protected even under the most severe weather conditions.Installation of this surge protector is hardwired, which I had done by a licensed electrician. This integration into my main electrical panel offers continuous surge coverage for all outlets and circuits in my home. It's a set-and-forget solution that doesn’t require any maintenance on my part. Lastly, the peace of mind provided by this surge protector is unmatched. It features automatic resetting capabilities and comes with a limited lifetime warranty, ensuring long-lasting security and protection for my home.Overall, the Bad Wolf SP240V200KA Whole House Surge Protector is an excellent investment for anyone looking to protect their home from electrical surges.

Super Easy Install!!!
I have had lightening damage more than once and getting too expensive to ignore the fact I need protection.I came across this whole house protector and decided to give it a try.Since it would be installed in my laundry room I really did not want the box mounted on the outside ugly and all so I decided to mount inside the box instead. After I installed and secured the box I drilled two small holes that line up with the two failure led's so it will be easy to verify if it has been tripped or not.I wish it were serviceable in the event lightening should take it out but this device is way cheaper than my well pump or HVAC unit so it is still worth it.Hope this is helpful and thanks..

Peace of mind
Two years ago the circuit board on my heatpump was fried during a lightning storm and I was without the heatpump during the summer months (thank you COVID). The electrician recommended installing a whole house surge protector, so here I am.The Bad Wolf SP240V200KA Whole House Surge Protector was installed by a licensed electrician as I'm not comfortable messing with the electric panel even though the instructions seem pretty clear. That went smoothly and it's now up and running. In operation the green light is lit, and if something goes wrong the unprotected red lights may come on. That's about all I can say until the next storm but it gives me the peace of mind that my whole house circuit is now protected just like my individual electronics.

Exactly what we wanted and needed
The electrician said it was easy to install, I’m sure a man of the house could have done it. It’s providing protection for our whole house so the value for the price is exceptional.
