Worth every penny!!!
I love this thing. It's worth every penny.I went to go buy a vehicle, and I always scan with my regular cheap 49$ scanner. This time, I brought this.I'll let you know, it's a little slow. But, I did do a full system scan and it produced AMAZING results.I was able to isolate every engine, transmission, BCM trouble code. Given the amount of money I was going to pay for this vehicle, I gladly passed on it.So, this thing saved me from buying a 60K car that probably needed 10K in repairs. It also does certain things that most home mechanics cannot do. Like being able to release brakes for newer vehicles while performing break maintenance, recalibration of things like the throttle position sensor, windows, cloning/programming key fobs, and many other fantastic things normal people don't have the ability to do, and mechanics have to pay thousands per year to be able to do.Anyways, in my opinion, this might be the BEST deal on the market.

Necessity for home mechanics
Very user friendly and leads you through each program. You do have to know certain information about your car beyond common knowledge, but the information it provides is very concise and helpful even provides fixes for any issues. It feels very sturdy and works just as well as a professional system for a more affordable price.

Great scanner with pro features — minor setup issue
The ThinkCar 689 OBD2 scanner is a powerful and reliable diagnostic tool. The ease of use is excellent, even for someone who isn’t a pro technician. Navigation is straightforward, and the interface is clean. It picked up codes quickly and provided clear data across multiple systems.I did run into a minor issue during the update process and had to reset the system once, but after that, everything worked perfectly. If you’re familiar with basic tech setup, it shouldn’t be a problem. The build quality feels solid, and it seems tough enough for daily shop use or to live in a toolbox. While it is a bit pricey, I honestly think it’s worth the investment — whether you’re a professional or a backyard mechanic. You’re getting deep diagnostics and solid performance without needing dealership-level gear.⸻Q&A:Q: Is this scanner easy to use for beginners or just pros?A: It’s user-friendly enough for beginners. The menu system is clean, and scanning is straightforward.Q: Did you experience any issues during setup or updates?A: Yes, the update glitched once and I had to reset it. After that, no issues at all.Q: Is it worth the higher price tag?A: Yes — it’s packed with features, reads a wide range of systems, and feels built to last.

Cost and performance cant be beat
Many features allow you to look deeply into modules and diagnosed most vehicl we s, free updates leaves other companies looking bad. You don't need to sign up for any accounts. You can just turn it on and start using it with sale and coupon i paid about 365. Couldnt be happier with price or performance. Saved me more than it's cost diagnosing the E.C.U in my car. Had a cheap one I was using in the past, It Didn't have the features I needed

May not perform a function you need.
I guess I don’t understand that they use overalls as a description. They say, it will cover your make of vehicle, but in honesty, it may only do one or two functions to your vehicle and not do the other functions to yours and may be limited to all makes that way, the can say it covers your vehicle. Very disappointed. So I returned it after only 30 minutes of use realizing that it doesn’t do all that much.

This was a good purchase
I purchased this scanner for my 2013 Chev Silverado. I scanned my truck and needed to replace my MAF sensor. I like this scanner. If I were to take my vehicle to a mechanic, it was cheaper to buy this where I live. Add up what a shop would charge in your area. It paid for itself in 1 use. I'm a DIYer mechanic, so if you are, works great and super easy to use. Be nice to help family and friends keep some costs down if needed.

Functions
A practicable scan tool to use with the ease and comfort of diagnosing a cars problems. I would of gave this five stars if there was more support for 2018 Honda Civic with functions. But the most needed functions are there. I enjoyed the gorilla as a company logo when I turned this scan tool on for the first time. Interesting. In addition, this scan tool covers most functions in your car. Older cars like mine, there are things I would of liked to see support in: ECU reset, able to turn sensors off and on. There are some things things that can be turned off/on and tested. But the majority for 10th gen Civic H.B. are limited in special functions. Overall, it works well with the extras of live support and lifetime updates. But I feel these updates will probably cover newer vehicles than older vehicles. Only time will tell. But for now. I am satisfied with my purchase and plan to use the key coping function quite a bit since I seem to lose my keys a lot. Also, the ease of use is easy. It has good grip and the weight of the scan tool is lite but not to heavy. The touchscreen reacts well, but at times have to press a few time for the corner of the screen to respond. The internal memory is decent. Be aware when you install the extra assistant item that help with diagnosing the car or information or using the tablet for internet. It will use a lot of memory and slow performance time. Install what you need only. You can install everything to try it and ease the extras later. Lastly, before doing any updates. Look at the functions available for your vehicle first and scan option functions. A lot depends on if you have a newer or older vehicle these updates will apply to. A good scan tool for the price. But this is not my last one to buy. I have other brands to try as well to see what offers the most for my car, unless you buy Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) that was made for Honda only.
