Delivered to wrong address, not Amazon's fault
Looks like a lovely tool. Unfortunately it was not delivered. UPS says it was delivered and posted a picture of it in someone else's driveway. I've tried contacting them with no help. Push come to shove I'll just buy another one.

Very well built high quality product, sharp and strong!
Received my gaff last week and immediately tried it out on Yellowtail in Southern Baja Mexico. The gaff worked great and I am very happy to have this longer gaff in my boat! Very sharp and super strong. I like the built-in lanyard very much! High quality item for sure!

Beat the plastic gaffs hands-down, great for fresh or saltwater
I've used many fishing gaffs in my time, and I was a bit concerned this item would be overkill for freshwater fishing, but this aff stands out for its performance and quality.Pros:- Durable Construction: The carbon fiber shaft has strength and weighs little, which makes it easy to handle. The stainless steel hook resists rust, probably more applicable for saltwater, but freshwater can cause rust as well.- Secure Hooking: The S316 stainless steel hook grips the catch , so once you hook your fish, it stays put, even smaller freshwater fish. I've thrown my previous economy model plastic gaff in the trash.- Multiple Length Options: You can choose between two different lengths (4'8'' and 7'). I went for the 7' version. I'm handicapped and fish alone, so I want to be able to gaff the fish without leaning over the boat edge.- The handle fits well in your hand, which helps to cut down on hand tiredness, and for lone anglers like myself it allows handling the gaff with one hand and rod in another.Cons:- Price: The high quality materials result in a steeper cost than some other gaffs you can buy. Still, I think it's money well spent for fishermen who need gear they can count on, you get what you pay for.-Storage: The bigger 7' version can be a bit tricky to pack away and move around if your boat doesn't have much room, like my Tracker Pro 170, but the value added overcomes the inconvenience in my opinion.I recommend this gaff with five stars. It excels for both fresh and salt water. Its built tough, but the lightweight materials make it easily manueverable even with one hand. Its a bit large for smaller freshwater boats, but the quality and design will overcome the storage hassle.

Top quality gaff! Best materials, feels great and nimble handling.
This fishing gaff is truly made for saltwater fishing. The composite construction makes it really quick to handle - sort of like a long badminton racquet. For quick catch and minimizing chance of loss, I feel this is pretty important. The stainless-steel hook is adequately thick to pull up real big fish and completely corrosion resistant. Other than surface salt buildup that washes right off, I worry about it scratching other things more than something damaging it. It is super sharp but does have a good cover included. The aluminum butt is a nice touch because it's rounded - less painful in case you get it pushed into your shoulder. This gaff just handles really well, and definitely recommend a try.

Solid gaff, lite and strong
Wish I could have posted a few pictures of the fish we stuck this past weekend with the gaff, but it does not appear that the filters on the review like those types of images. It is a strong gaff, we pulled up 30# bluefins with ease, they were easily pierced by the hook and the grip on the pole was nice with no slip. I would have no issues gaffing 100+ pound tunas with this set up, as it does have a little flex in the pole, but not too much to be an issue when the fish struggles. Probably the only negative comment I have is the point cover, the little rubber cap on the end. it tends to visually be in the way during gaffing as there is no way to move it down the hook. The easy solution is to just cut it off, but I know some folks like to have them on the gaff as a safety precaution.... but there are so many other things (hooks, knives, boat rocking, wake and angry fish) that can put just as much hurt on you as the unlikely scenario where you would be on the wrong end of this gaff...
