Two factors sold me on this product - the 1 gallon size and the stainless steel filter. I have had this now for two months and it has been in constant use. Simple to use and it makes excellent cold brew.I recommend starting with a good coffee that you like hot. The standard drip grind works well for cold brew. I use 10g per 6oz cup of filtered water or 200g for a full gallon. Put the filter on a kitchen scale, zero the scale, pour in 200g (7 oz) of ground coffee, put the filter into the glass container, fill slowly with cold water, screw the lid on and you are good to go. I allow the coffee to brew for 48 hours, and then remove the filter/coffee grounds. (I place the filter in a bowl to drain and will recover up to 1/2 cup of coffee.)Wash the filter with soapy water to remove any coffee oils; then store it safely to avoid damage.One question I have seen is about the brewer is the lack of information on how tight to screw down the spigot to avoid leakage. Assemble the spigot with the silicone washers inside and outside and steel nut inside. Tighten the nut - slowly and carefully - until the raised edge on the silicone washer is flat. Fill half full of water and let it sit for 30 minutes to test for proper seal.One other comment has been about the lid. It is definitely not heavy duty but it is stainless steel. Be careful to not squeeze and deform the lid and if, when you put it on, you turn the lid backwards a half turn (counter clockwise), then turn it clockwise to put it on, the lid will align properly and close.

Hi, my name is "Jon" and I'm a Teaholic. I drink iced tea almost exclusively and, for the past 30 years, or so, have been using a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker. Not the same one, of course, but have purchased multiple over the years. It worked fine for iced tea, but I've been on a mission to get rid of all plastics as far as heating and storing food.This 1 gallon tea/coffee maker is a perfect replacement. It makes and holds a full quart more than the 3 qt. iced tea makers, doesn't stain so it's easy to clean, and the spigot makes it ultra convenient to dispense without having to take it out of the fridge.I get very hot water right from the tap and have no problems adding that right to the glass pitcher BUT I'm very careful not to do this while the pitcher is cold to avoid cracking the glass. If the pitcher is still cold from the fridge, I simply fill it with some luke-warm water and swirl it around to help bring up the temperature of the glass before refilling with hot water.Next, the cap/top needs to be a little loose to allow airflow into the container or the coffee/tea will not flow correctly from the spigot.It's a little on the pricey side when you consider it's just a large mason jar with a filter and spigot, but it's ideal if you like cold brew and/or drink a lot of iced coffee or tea.

This gallon iced coffee maker came with a cool slip cover for the bottom to keep it in place, a brush to clean the filter and a tool to tighten the spigot if needed.I originally gave it 3 stars because it was great but the spigot only spit out the iced coffee and it took a while to refill. The company reached out to remedy the situation. Come to find out it was user error. When you have the lid on tightly, the spigot doesn’t flow. Loosen the lid and let that delicious coffee or tea fly out into your cup!It is super easy to maintain and keep clean as well. No grounds in my coffee, which I was surprised about.10/10 would recommend to others.Customer service is fabulous!!

I’m going to start by stating that I have 4 of these cold brewers. The first 3 are awesome, albeit not shock or shatter-proof as one broke, leading me to purchase my fourth. It arrived and usually they come with a black gripper that fits around the bottom so it doesn’t slide around (much needed and very helpful!) but this one didn’t. Instead it came with some sort of wooden sign that hangs around the neck, very unnecessary. I’ll trade it for the gripper…I’m begging here. It also appears to be smaller, even the mesh filter insert is smaller. I’ve added a picture showing how the fourth is different. The filter is worth the price as it’s great quality and the grounds don’t get through at all and that’s important. These were all purchased this year and all the boxes were the same style/design, but the most recent may have been smaller. I’m going to compare the size of the containers when I get them back from my coffee house. They’re very easy to use and seal well. So well that it creates a vapor lock and you do have to loosen the lid to dispense the cold brew. The flavor of your cold brew will depend on the quality of beans you use, but the filter won’t allow and grounds, so that’s a plus. I gave these 4 stars because of the inconsistent sizing and missing the gripper sleeve because that is thing is a necessity. I’d give 4.5 if Amazon allowed.

This costs a bit more, but worth it. The rubber boot is a nice touch, and you must loosen the lid to pour, which just means it won’t leak when tightened down. Works great for sun brewing. Fits in fridge perfect due to square shape, so takes up less room. Cold brewed coffee is outstanding.

The size is great for our needs, the valve or seals do not leak. It will drip a few drops after you shut the valve, nothing abnormal. Feels sturdy and well constructed, cleans easily. Makes excellent cold brew.

Ich liebe im Sommer Coldbrew Kaffee mit Vanille Aroma und Eis zu trinken. Dieses Glas ist ideal dafür, perfekte Größe für die ganze Woche im Kühlschrank…passt perfekt im Kühlschrank, nimmt nicht zu viel Platz dur das quadratische Form und mit dem Harn immer sofort einsatzbereit ohne den Glas aus dem Kühlschrank rausnehmen zu müssen. Das feine Filter dazu ist perfekt für Kaffee…es kommen keine gemahlene Kaffeereste durch den Filter in den Kaffee hinein. Im Sommer ist diesen Glas immer in mein Kühlschrank bereit und wird am Wochenende immer frisch gebrüht. Ich liebe es! Den Harn tropft nicht nach und die Dichtung hält sehr gut. Nur beim Waschen muss man gut damit aufpassen…den Glas nicht auf die Waschbeckenkante anzustoßen.

Tanto si te gusta el café para hacer un cold brew como si te gusta el agua de sabores o si tienes una fiesta y quieres llenarlo de rebujito debes tenerlo. Está muy bien construido. Lo he metido varias veces en el lavavajillas y aguanta perfectamente. Lo tengo desde principio de verano y ni el grifo ni el filtro tienen ningún síntoma de óxido.

Cela n'a pas posé de problème, le produit était en bon état.Nous sommes très agréablement surpris de la qualité de ce produit.Le filtre est très fin et permet de faire infuser, autant du café moulu, que du thé, ou n'importe quel fruit, sans laisser de particule dans la boisson.Le robinet et le couvercle sont légèrement moins qualitatif mais en bon état et fonctionnels.Très contente de ce produit.
