OK product, need to improve how they attach
Not easy to get lined up right BUT once you do they work great. Maybe a small bungee or elastic strap then tighten bolts.

Reciprocating Saw Guide
This devise worked as advertised and produced level cuts. I cut 36 post tops off that were 6x6 posts. While it worked there are some improvements that need to be made that would make it a 5 ***** tool. First, rather than use simple nuts, it would be convenient to utilize wing nuts to tighten the guide to the posts. Second, a heavy gauge bolt is needed. The threads stripped by the 30 th post. Thankfully, it is possible to screw the guide to the posts to secure it for cutting. Overall, it works, but needs these simple updates.

This works
This product works and it helped me top off 5 posts. I may have a few more by the time we are done. It does take a little bit of setup to make it level all ways. I was cutting posts after the installation of the fence and had some little slices I needed to cut off. This worked perfectly however I could only access 2 bolts to tighten with pliers. Even though I was only able to tighten 2 out of 4 screws it consistently stays put and guides reciprocating saw for a perfect cut. I would not recommend this tool to a pro as I don’t think the bolts are very durable. But for a one time project or diy it will perfectly serve its purpose.

Okay but needs work.
Does it help you cut a 4x4 or 6x6 straighter, Yes. But you will no doubt cut into the metal guards like I did. So longevity isn't there. I think the manufacturer might want to consider a tougher metal perhaps Tungsten. The other thing that they need to do is create some hand tightening knobs, as it's so annoying to have to break out my tool box just to tighten down the bolts. If you are only cutting one 4x4 no big deal but if you were doing 12 of them as I was doing, it's a PAIN!

Couldn’t Have Done The Job Without It
I have 21 6” x 6” posts on the deck of my house that were originally cut in a birdhouse shape by the contractor. After 14 years, a few of the post tops had begun to crack and rot. I used the ReciProMate to cut the post tops off so that I could put aluminum post caps on them. I didn’t know how I was going to be able to make a nice cut until I saw this tool on YouTube. Although it takes a little time to set it up, it worked great and allowed me to make nice level cuts. After setting up on the first couple of posts, it got much easier to set up for the rest. I used a 9” blade on my reciprocating saw because that’s what I had, but I think a 12” blade would have been a little easier to handle. I am very pleased with the results.

Fantastic Tool!
This makes cutting my 6x6 posts so easy. I was really not looking forward to doing this but using this tool makes it so much easier. It takes about 10 mins to setup on each post but the cut only take 2 mins and is perfect. Highly recommend if you want a great looking straight cut.

Great Product
Great product, cut thru holding bolts on pole 10. But easy and inexpensive to replace. Angle cuts on top of customers fence posts are no longer a worry. My old Makita SawsAll worked well with it , as did my employees newer recip saws.
