The only seed/fertilizer product that has worked. This is what you need!
Just a quick note before getting into this. The images attached were taken ~ 7 weeks apart. Mid spring to end of spring. Just before prep and treatment to fully developed. During these 7 weeks normally the yard would somewhat green... but its always been a leafy, crab grassy, weedy mess that would die off and leave nothing but moss. The lawn was always good from far but far from good. So, to be blunt, the property was a WRECK since we moved in... but the ‘before’ pictures make it seem much worst than it usually looks at this time. Now to the review. Our yard is 15kish sq ft of sun/shade mix. I ordered 5-40lb bags to really cover it. We dethatched and also scarified the lawn before tossing away all the moss and dead debris. Basically leaving 70% soil left over. I applied the scotts 3-in-1 Thick’r immediately after prep and followed the directions to a T. Watered twice a day. Never too much or too little. Used starter fertilizer to get things going. Then sat back and waited. Watered. Waited. And repeat. First, the negative - it took almost 3 weeks to receive the product. But with everything going on (covid-19) I’ll let this slide. It also took twice as long, if not longer, to start growing in, than stated. The bag, and reviews, state 7-10 up to 14 days. After 21 with next to no growth I nearly gave up watering and called the pro’s. But after around 30 days it really started filling in. By week 5 it was full. Not sure what was stopping it, maybe weather or sun, but something jump started the growth and it took right off. Since then it’s continued to fill in. At week 6 we mowed for the first time and it’s only grown thicker since. I am extremely happy with where we are today on this lawn rehab and it’s completely thanks to this product. We had similarly tried to treat the property in the past with just seed and fertilizer from another brand and it was a complete waste of money. Nothing grew. Without hesitation I would recommend this product to anyone living in the area. Already have to several neighbors who have commented on the property.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceeded My Expectations
I was honestly surprised by how well this worked. My lawn had several thin, patchy areas that never seemed to fill in no matter what I tried. After applying Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn and following the watering instructions, I started noticing new growth within a 3-4 weeks. The grass came in thicker, greener, and much more even than before. What I like most is that it's an all-in-one product, so I didn't have to buy separate seed, fertilizer, and soil improver. It made the whole process simple and saved me time. The coverage was also very close to what was advertised for my yard size. A couple of weeks later, my lawn looks healthier and fuller, and one of my neighbor have asked what I've been using. If you're dealing with thin grass and want an easy solution, I highly recommend giving this product a try. Definitely worth the money!

Good product for the money needs a boost
This turf builder worked in much of the area of my grass to grow the grass, germinates quickly but retention was difficult because our yard is on a hill. We still had bald spots so my daughter got another grass seed, but mixed with Kentucky blue grass and top soil it does wonders. I gave it four stars because it needs some extra boost.

This stuff really seems to work
I like a decent lawn but am not going to go crazy seeding, weeding, liming, etc...and my lawn reflects that. My mantra is usually "if it's green, it's grass" and I cut it. As a result, the lawn looks okay but can often be thin, sometimes kind of brittle to walk upon, and only light green in color. There are some things I will try occasionally in the spring to improve its look but not much...and I only do it then. The lawn is pretty much on its own after that. Have neither the time nor the inclination to care for the lawn continuously throughout the season. That being said, I tried the turf builder this spring in the front yard and on the right side of the house, areas which can be thin, weedy and even threadbare. I did put down a little extra grass seed as well, and I mean a little, and watered with a sprinkler every other day for about 7-10 days. Well, I am so pleased with the results that I am writing this review and have told others. This turf builder has made a noticeable difference in the look and feel of my lawn. There are fewer weeds, it is more lush, more green and it looks healthier. In fact, I can honestly say it looks the best it has ever looked since I moved to this house 15 years ago. A telltale sign of the turf builder's effectiveness is the untreated part of my lawn. I can actually see the difference between the treated and untreated areas. The treated area is noticeably darker green and fuller, with the grass growing taller. I am just sorry I did not do the whole lawn. It is on my calendar to do that next spring. As another reviewer has written, don't give up on this too quickly. You need to give it about 2-3 weeks and water it a bit in the beginning. I do hope anyone who uses this product has as much success with it as I have had, and with such relatively little effort. ADDENDUM - 7/23/2019: During the Fall of 2018 I decided to use this on the entire lawn. Bought four 40 lb. bags and mixed in some more grass seed. Laid it all down in late September hoping for the best in the Spring. Well, I was not disappointed. At first, it did not seem to make much difference. As it got into May and June, though, I noticed an overall improvement even in very shaded areas which had previously had little grass and sometimes moss. With such encouragement from my lawn, I will probably do the same this Fall, likely adding a couple more bags. One thing, I did water much of it for about an hour a day for a week. I have a half acre (about 75% lawn, the rest trees and large shrubs). It was kind of a pain to keep moving the sprinklers, and my water bill shot up for one cycle, but I felt the hydration was necessary and worth it.

BUY IT!!!!!! It’s magic!
Shocked how good and fast this worked! We have biggo dogs and our girl loves to dig holes. We really thought this was would a lost cause but thought take a chance! WOW did this surprise us. Within 2 months the area has fully grown back. I do recommend blocking the area in between adding more seeds, especially if you have pets!

Nothing grew. 4.8 lbs of total grass seed in 40 lbs bag
I purchased this hoping it would fill in some bare spots and areas that were thin. I had first dethatched my lawn and then scarified it as well preparing the soil as best I could for the seed. I had delivered from a landscaping company their best lawn soil mixture. I purchased a lawn leveling rake so I could level the lawn from some low spots. I went ahead planted the seed with the fresh soil and leveled the lawn. Kept it watered and in over a month now zero nothing not a blade of grass. I had only used 1/2 of the bag because the area I was covering was around 1000 sq feet and the bag says up to 4000 sq feet so I was planning on reseeding in the fall. It’s laughable to think 4.8 lbs of grass seed will cover 4000 sq feet of lawn when on average they recommend 4-7 lbs per 1000 sq feet for over seeding. So I wasn’t even using half of the recommender area and half the bag so I was well covered. So after a couple weeks I decided I would try a old trick of putting grass seed in my wheelbarrow and grow it under optimum conditions. I went and purchased SCOTTS LAWN SOIL FOR SEED. Keep it in the family I thought. Can’t blame the soil If it’s their own I went and mixed up a co side table amount of the product with the soil In my wheelbarrow. I watered it and covered it and put in my shed. I monitored it every day and then I decided to bring it out in the sun when the temps went up. It was easy to keep it moist. I have a raised bed vegetable garden a Hosta garden so I am an avid gardener. I love plants and gardening. I have Window boxes I grow flowers in every year so I’m not some rookie who doesn’t understand how grass grows. Grass needs warmth, moisture and direct contact with soil. That’s it the seed will do the rest as it has all it needs to sprout. Keep it moist warm and in contact with soil. Why the wheelbarrow is a great place to jump start seeds. It’s been 18 days and not a single blade of grass. This seems almost impossible unless this bad had no grass seed in it at all. Idk but I looked on the bag and here is what’s included. 3.68% Alloy Perennial Ryegrass 3.62% Vision Perennial Ryegrass 1.85% Bolster Chewings Fescue 1.75% Boreal Creeping Fescue .61% Starr Kentucky Bluegrass .61% Dauntless Kentucky Bluegrass Other ingredients: 87.81% Inert Matter .06% Other Crop Seed .01% Weed Seed This comes to 12.1% Seed 4.8lbs 87.88% Inert Matter 35.15 lbs Total 40lbs So they expect us to believe 4.8 lbs of grass seed can fill in your lawn of 4000 sq feet? And if I called and asked them how much grass seed would I need for 1000sq feet I would be told 4-7 lbs to overseed it. So in this bag they put in little seed and tell you it covers 4000sq feet but if you buy straight grass seed you need as much as 7 lbs for 1000 sq feet? Something isn’t right. So I am done with Scott’s grass seed. There so called guarantee. Guaranteed you will look to another company for your lawn care products after using ours.

✅Great for Texas Heat
✅I have been using this grass seed bag for about 2 years, and I love it. I replant my yard every time I get patches, and this stuff works like magic. ✅The color is easy on the grass and will not distract or make your yard ugly if you use this in the open. The Bag is perfect for medium yards, so it's a great buy for your money. The instructions were easy to read and understand, so my kids helped me too. ✅Germination was not a big deal. Just do what the bag says and watch your yard look beautiful. The grass will start to grow if you water it right in about 1 week.
