XW Galaxy Auto Darkening Welding Helmet Shades 9-13 + Grind Function

This is a quality bit of kit, well packaged and delivered well within time advised. That's the good bit. The rest is even better....Firstly, all the functions on it work really well, The auto dim cuts in super fast so absolutely no blinding flashes to worry about. In non-welding mode the visibility is very clear so no need to keep lifting the helmet. So for functionality, five stars. Now to the helmet itself: Light, easy to wear, loads of adjustment if you wear glasses as the helmet can be adjusted fore and aft to accommodate this. As regards finish, super high class paint job as good as a car finish. Mine came in a bright cherry colour with yellow flame flashes down the sides...wow! As regards extras, there are spare extra visor covers, plus a carry bag to store it in (great to protect from sunlight and grinding dust). The adjustment straps are plastic which is fine if you have loads of hair. In my case I wear a woolly beanie hat to keep sparks off my head so that's me covered. My old helmet cost over twice as much a few years back and was not half as good.In conclusion, A great bit of kit from a very reliable supplier at a knock down price. no wonder it's a top seller. Highly recommended.

This is such a big improvement over the old style fixed shade welding mask that there is no real comparison. It arrived the next day and worked exactly as advertised. My welding has improved significantly from being able to see the job clearly whilst striking an arc. At low amps only the lowest darkness setting is needed. Fitting adjustments all work as expected. The flip-down does not have a friction stop so you need to flip the mask all the way up where it seems to stay OK until you bend down again when it flips down. No batteries is great as the solar power seems to work fine in ordinary room light.

I was looking for an auto darkening weld mask - and I got one. It works well once you're used to it. I would rather have had a plain black one and note that it appears to be flimsier then my old mask, but given reasonable respect, it should be perfectly adequate for my purpose - odd jobs around the garage, usually fixing broken garden tools. I'm willing to look like a '60's rocker considering the price!

Top welding screen. As good as speed glass as far as I'm concerned. Use at work on a regular basis. 4 sensors, many more shades than advertised, grinding setting. Comfortable. Changeable batteries. Artwork looks ok. Absolute bargain. Don't even look at other ones. Highly recommend.

Hands free whilst welding and I did not get arc eye so I guess it works a treat , it does seem to be a bit far from your face whilst in the down position even when fully adjusted and is a bit dark when not in welding function so I would not use it for grinding as you cant beat simple clear goggles for that job but at this price its a breath of fresh air for welding (I use it for MIG).

Cracking product and price quality is really nice and works how it should do. I like the way you can turn the dial and use it for grinding too very handy. Its comfortable and comes with spare lense covers and a bag aswell. This helmet is well worth the money i bought simillar version off ebay that came squashed no box crumpled up instructions got refund. This helmet came in big box with packaging protection then in another box and the helmet box well protected. Would i recommend this mask yes i certainly would.

After working as a welder for the last 2 years, and having used several different types of welding mask, I found this this to be up there with there with the more expensive models.Good clarity through the window, and very comfortable to wear. When you flip up the mask, it has a 'locking' effect, so doesn't fall down when you move your head, but will release when you flick your head, when ready to weld. I really liked that.So, for the price, I recommend this mask.

I bought this helmet nine months ago and have just got around to testing it for the first time. The lens darkens in response to bright light, but then lightens immediately. I've adjusted all of the dials ad nauseam, replaced the battery, and even left the helmet in the sun for a few days in case it needs solar charging. No change. Too late to return to the seller, but I contacted the manufacturer two weeks ago and have received no reply. In my case, this was a complete waste of money.
