needed to replace the outdrive water pump impeller because it was run dry for a short time and smoked the original one. working good now

Similar experience to others who gave only one star. The new kit pumped water while connected to a pressurized water supply like the garden hose but would not pump water out on the lake. Fortunately, I’m a temp gage watcher and noticed the motor temp had risen very close to red range before we had idled about 200 ft out. Put last year’s pump parts back in and all is well.I did notice one thing different between the new rubber impeller and last years impeller. Placed both on a flat surface and the old impeller was a bit higher than the new one. Same number of blades and same diameter. The old impeller is wide enough to hold the housing a tiny amount away from the out drive such that the three bolts seemed to compress the impeller this tiny amount.

The install was to be expected. I have only ran the boat a couple times, but I have had no issues with the cooling system. Works great.

Haven't put it in the water yet, but kit was a perfect fit easy install on my '93 cobra drives
