Well worth every cent
This is a truly beautiful book on every level, from biography to cooking to art to tangled lives and personalities, etc. It is almost 400 pages with extensive reference material including an exhausted bibliography, notes, indexes and well reproduced art work.If you have any interest in England between the wars, in the lives of the bohemians who were members of the Bloomsbury Group, their art/crafts/ houses, or cooking sometimes unusual and interesting dishes, this is a great gift for anyone including yourself.

food for soul
Absolutely more than a cookbook. Kitchen is a pretext to show us more about Bloomsbury: beautiful interiors, portraits, pictures. And life of servants, not only a "piece of furniture". I keep it by the sofa, close to Charleston, and run through when I need some estraordinary atmosphere.

A good read.
This is fun Bloombury gossip. I didn't use it as a cookbook at all, though the recipes did look interesting.

A Lovely Combination of Bloomsbury Culture and Culinary Art
The Bloomsbury Cookbook is a wonderful example of what we call an armchair cookbook, a book you can savor while seated in your favorite comfortable easy chair without ever entering the kitchen or lifting a pan. Jans Ondaatje Rolls has done an admirable job of introducing readers to the impact of The Bloomsbury Group of authors, thinkers and free-spirited personalities, and sharing many previously unpublished recipes. Beautifully illustrated, this volume skillfully blends art and food in a cookbook that will transport you to another time!

Absolutely amazing
This book was far better than I ever expected. It is part cookbook with recipes, but also part biography, artbook and social history. I loved to read about the different members of Bloomsbury and what they liked to eat. The story is enriched with anecdotes and references from the novels they wrote or their letters. The book is beautifully illustrated with photographs and paintings, the whole book looks very beautiful. In short, this is one of the best non-fiction books I own.

The ultimate cookbook if you also love art!
I have to confess that I haven't really tried any of the recipes but this book is food for the mind as well as the senses. This books gives an insight into the everyday lives of the Bloomsbury set, who I have to admit I have mixed feelings about. Made with all the sumptuous production values that you would expect from Thames and Hudson. An absolute delight.
