Amazing!
I already have quite straight hair, so some may say I am an idiot for straightening it, but, I am OCD and need to have perfect hair, which to me is bone straight/not frizzy/no fly-aways. I don't bother curling my hair because it doesn't stay in (I wish I could though).Anyways back to the point. This straightener is the first to leave my hair completely pin straight, and sleek at the same time. The wide plates cover both a larger volume of hair, and larger surface of the individual strands. So, overall your hair looks much sleeker. The plates are relatively thinner than most straighteners, which is great as it allows you to bring the straightener closer to your scalp without burning yourself. It has a customisable heat setting, unlike most straighteners which only have about 3 settings, the Toni & Guy straightener has a variety which vary between 25 degrees each time you increase or decrease the temperature, from 185 to 235 C. You only need one stroke to achieve pin straight hair with this device. It saves time, and effort. Some cons however, are that the straightener is a little bit heavier than most, it's not substantially heavier though, so still very manageable. Also, as it is a wide plate straightener, if you are clumsy like me you can burn yourself as there is an width-wards extension of the metal plates against the frame where you hold the device. However if you are a normal human being, you will realise that it's dumb to touch the heated metal plates.Overall 10/10

Perfect for our tight curly afro hair.
Perfect. I only stretch our hair, not straighten so I have only used the very low settings.I have tried quite a few hair straighteners and they always left the ends of our hair crunchy, until I tried this one and the ends were as soft as the rest of the hair.I now realise tourmaline is what we needed all along and not just ceramic. The wide plates are awesome because I can grab more hair and it cuts the stretching time in half. I can stretch my hair in between 10 - 40 mins depending on how thorough and fast I am.I like the timer feature because it helps me see how long I have used it for. When I used my phone to time myself, I always forgot to check the time when I am done or to stop the timer.Besides, the no-crunchy ends, the heat setting was the best surprised. Finally, I get settings lower than 145 degrees Celsius. It has 85 degrees Celsius as its lowest setting and it goes up by 5degrees. So 85, 90, 95, 100, etc. I have not gone past 130 so didnt bother to check the highest, as I said my intention is not to straighten our (mine and daughter's) tight, kinky curly afro textured "4c" hair but to stretch it out a bit and make it pliable enough to work with when its dry.I love the texture of our hair, with its natural frizzyness and poofyness but it shrinks so much to about 95% of its actual length that I sometimes need to stretch it out a bit to about 70%. We both have hair that is past collarbone chasing armpit length both front and back but shrinks like we have a fresh low cut TWA.I dont have the time and energy for constant braidouts or twists outs for stretching on 2 heads of hair, that ends up shrinking back up. So this gets the job done quicker. That said, we usually wear it shrunken or in 2 ponytails but this hair straightener is the best we have ever had for our hair.

These irons are fantastic, especially for the money
These irons are fantastic, especially for the money. They heat up quickly & have a variable heat setting.I have always used GHD's & Sedu straighteners & decided to give these a try after reading the reviews. These are just as good as both of them. They work worldwide too which means they are great for holidays. The plates are very flat & straighten my hair as good as my GHD's/Sedu do. They leave my hair soft & silky to touch. Very pleased with them.

Can't praise highly enough!
5.0 out of 5 stars Can't recommend enough!, 15 Jan. 2017By HanEdit ReviewDelete ReviewVerified Purchase(What is this?)This review is from: Casdon Morphy Richards Kitchen Set (Toy)I buy so much from Amazon that I only ever write a review of something is awful or excellent. These fall into the latter category. I've been using hair straighteners every day of my life (yes, even the day I gave birth...) since the mid 1990s. Right back when I had the awful Babyliss ones that came with 3 interchangeable crimping plates! I've had a whole lot of different ones since then, but these are by far the best I have ever used! I have very thick, very unruly, wavy shoulder length hair, and previously I've had to straighten (or rather, flatten) it every day. Humidity days are ny nemesis - think Monica Geller! But with these, I straighten them when I wash my hair, and that's it...until the next wash! Awesome!!!! Even shopping in the drizzle and a trip to the seaside didn't resurrect the waves! I don't know what's so different to these compared to my last pair - expensive remmington ones. They're only 5° hotter, so it must be the wider plates perhaps. Whatever it is, they're excellent - really make life sooooo much easier (and saves me 10 mins every morning - some days I used to have to straighten 2 or 3 times a day too). I now have shiny straight hair - think Michelle in Coronation Street! They're THAT good!!
