We had the same hike described in the lonely planet travel guide where it was described as a walk that was family-friendly. In fact the "walk" was about 2200 feet vertical where one of the hikers had to be airlifted out after severely breaking an ankle on the very rough, limestone short, extremely steep path. If you go to Sardinia and you like to hike get this book and spend time in the mountain region that this book focuses on. It is absolutely gorgeous.
