Expensive, But Worth It
If you've tried out the cheapie watercolor sets and would like to take painting to a new level, better materials will help. This set from Sennelier is a better material. The honey in the paint helps with the smoothness and moveability of pigment. You still get a sheerness, but depth of color. You also find out really quickly which colors you like and which you don't use much at all.If you're looking to upgrade, this set is a good investment and I can't recommend it enough. Because it's so expensive (because you're buying a quality product with the long standing name and reputation for excellence to back it up), I don't recommend this if you're not sure about watercolors or for your five year old to mess around with. These are professional quality paints and are priced as such.

Beautiful, vivid colors and ease of use
I love these watercolors. They're easy to wet and the colors are just super vivid and beautiful. I've heard that Sennelier watercolors are especially good for glazing and that's certainly the case. They're super easy to rewet, too. I just can't complain about a single thing with these paints. I'm so glad I ordered them and I've had wonderful experiences painting with them. I even get a lot of joy out of looking at the swatches I've done and put up on the wall. I've seen a review or two on Youtube where the user wasn't very impressed with Sennelier paints but I can't imagine not liking them. I have several brands of watercolor paint and these are right there at the top of my list of what I consider to be the most excellent watercolors. I haven't tried the tubes because I prefer having pans because they're easier and tidier to use and to take with me when painting elsewhere than home.

Beautiful watercolors!
Initially was very disappointed and had to return the first set. Unfortunately, it appeared as if the pan had been dropped and all the cakes of paint were put back in on no particular order. The little plastic cases were where they belonged according to the reference card. But not the cakes and there was no way for me to fix this myself. Also the paint brush was missing from the first set. Anyway, returned and replaced with no issue. I was able to swatch these and oh.my.gosh! Worth every penny. The colors are beautiful and they handle so nicely. It was well worth the wait. If you want to treat yourself or make your favorite artist happy, you will not go wrong by investing in these.

Great set of pans with an initial minor adjustment
I'm very pleased with this set, it's such a joy to use! Sennelier uses a honey binder for their watercolors, which lends a wonderful smoothness to the paint while using it. The colors themselves are rich and vibrant, not one single color is disappointing or one you'd want to replace, as is the case with many sets. The variety is incredible, normally you'd want to hand mix all of these colors yourself, but it's really handy to have these gorgeous colors right at your fingertips. The case is virtually the same as the ones Schmincke uses for their pan sets and I loved those enough to order two empty cases to hold my Yarka St. Petersburg sets. The case itself is just hard enough to protect the paints, and still light enough to maneuver in one hand. On the inside, you have a palette and the tray of watercolors which lifts out to reveal more mixing/palette space if you need it. There is a plastic cover on the inside that goes over the pans and gives a swatch, color names in French and English and the corresponding color number and the series number. I find it to be helpful as I can use it to know which paint it is for any tutorials and for reorder information. I find it best to remove that when you're painting as you can wipe some of that printed color/info off if you're wiping paint off of it. There is a ring underneath it for your thumb or finger to hold the palette stable in your hand. There is a problem I want to address. I had read a previous review where the reviewer accidentally knocked her cakes out of their pans and couldn't tell which was which. Because of that warning, I was able to test that and, the cakes are quite loose inside the pan. This would be a huge problem for me but I did think of a solution and try it and photograph it for you all. I had a syringe for filling ink from Goulet Pens, I'm sure you can use any syringe from the drug store, so I used the syringe to wiggle the needle into an open spot and then inject a tiny bit of water into each pan so that it would wet the cake from underneath, causing the liquefied watercolor to dry onto the pan from underneath. This worked beautifully so now all of the cakes are stable inside the pans, and I hope this info helps someone to not have that problem.Overall, they're amazing and my little solution fixed the only problem I had with them, making them a perfect set.

Very nice high quality paint. Easy to rewet and creamy texture. Just love it🥰
Bought this on a deal fromAmazon.I would say it’s a steal.Arrived the very next day I ordered (thanks to amazon)I have posted two pictures in here1. The metal box with 48 count half pans.2. The swatch sheet. The product arrived dent free and had some (very few grits ) on the colors. But I don’t mind now because after the swatch test all grits are gone 😂You can say from the second picture all the Colors are transparent but white( don’t use it atall)Will keep updated with new paintings I’ll make with this pretty box 😊

Like glazing on glass
Arrived today. On opening, there's a few scratches on the outside tin. The paints all had flecks of other colors that I swept off with a dry cloth. All the pan colors matched the included plastic overlay. I finally got to swatch and they are like glazing on glass. So smooth, clear, and bright. I didn't need to prewet the pans and just touched for a significant amount. Several pigments, the usuals do granulate which I love. I already sketched a flamingo to highlight the beautiful quin red. Happy I chose this set!
