Itouch
For years I've been replacing Otterbox cases for my son's itouch. They protect well, but the outer rubber is flimsy and always ends up tearing off around the charging input. They always seem to stretch after a few weeks, too (even if they've never been taken off). I purchased the Survivor after seeing how pleased my husband was after purchasing one for his iphone (he gave up on Otterbox as well). The Griffin fit for my son's itouch was outstanding. It's easy to take on and off, has a better grip, and seems durable. I could tell right away that it's definitely a better design and of better quality than Otterbox (the outer rubber is thicker, but not bulky).

Ridiculously over-engineered? Or the perfect case for your iPod touch no matter where you're headed?
I think its a bit of both.Tested and certified to meet or exceed US Department of Defense Standard 810F and UK Department of Defense Standard 00-35, Griffin's Survivor is designed from the inside out to protect your iPod touch from extreme conditions ... dirt, sand, rain, shock, vibration and a host of other environmental factors.Survivor is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in rugged, shock-absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector seals your Multi-Touch display from the outside environment, and hinged plugs seal the dock connector, camera lens, headphone port, hold switch and volume controls. A detachable heavy-duty clip secures your iPod touch to a belt or bag strap.SIMPLY PUT, the Griffin Survivor Case is the most protective case we've ever built. I've had mine for 1 1/2 years and its been as good as new in thick and thin for me. Always came through in any situation its even water resistant, what more can you want? lol Hope this helps :)

Rugged...but clip won't open
I admit it...I am an accident waiting to happen. I knew when I got a smart phone, it had to be able to either be protected well or withstand a drop of a few feet. Thank God I knew that for the phone has survived many a tumble and still works great. Same with the iPod touch. Love to listen to music, play around with my favorite apps, read and more...yet again I knew I needed to protect it. Purchased one cover for it, but it was too brittle. Plastic was so fragile that it cracked just putting it on the iPod! So I elected to get the military grade Griffin Survivor case, particularly since it was advertised that it had a belt clip - a must when I am walking around the house doing chores or getting the mail down the street. It took a bit of time to arrive (was informed that there would be a delay - so not my normal Prime shipping time format, but that was okay) and when it did arrive (earlier than expected), I excitedly put my iPod Touch into it and it was great! I could control all the buttons of the iPod through the heavy duty, yet extremely flexible rubberized portion of the case. The hard plastic was surrounded by the rubber padding and the screen cover was firm, yet sensitive to my touch when working the screen. Happy! Then I added the clip portion and was, and continue to be, frustrated beyond belief that the clip would not and will not open up in order to attach to my belt or jeans. I worked and worked on the clip, trying to pry it open but finally stopped when I felt that any more pressure on my part would cause the clip to break. No clear directions were provided to explain the supposed complexity of a clip that I could see how it operated. There is no way that it will snap open properly. Poor design. I give up! So now I have a very great protective case/cover for my iPod Touch but still have to figure a way to attach it to my belt/jeans. At least I know that it won't break when I drop it.PS: If the belt clip worked - I would give it a 5 star rating. Without the clip, it is a 3 to 3.5 star.

Excellent Case
I bought 2 of these cases; for me and a gift. They fit perfectly. They have a nice look and great feel to them. I also like that the screen protector is part of the case so one isn't needed. The only long term flaw I see with these is that the silicone covers for headphone jack, charging dock and rear camera will probably break in time. I feel it is still better to have them even though and I have seen replacement silicone covers in many different color sold on E-Bay so all in all not much of a negative. Other than that these are great cases and I feel much better with them on. The covered buttons also work perfectly.

TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
Didn't have it long, dropped i-pod out of pocket less than 3 ft,it landed on its side and spider cracked entire screen.Called to ask what kind of coverage is on warrenty, they said none, that isn't covered. I didn't buy it for looks, bought it for protection ,something it obviously isn't made to do....protect. What a total waste of money. Not only did I lose out out on a junk protective system, now have to pay for I-pod too. Thanks for standing behind your junk product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Griffin Survivor case is awesome
I purchased 2 cases for each of my kid's ipods. The case is awesome. It seems to completely protect the ipod and almost makes it indestructable. I have 1 major issue with it: You CANNOT keep it on when recharging the ipod on an iHome alarm clock. You must take the ipod out of the case to put it on the ihome. Since my kids use their ihome alarm clocks everyday to wake up for school, this dismantling of the griffin case becomes part of the night bedtime routine. I dislike this because taking the ipod out of its protective case defeats the whole purpose of having the protective case. Keep in mind that this case is incredibly "rugged" and therefor fits the ipod very tightly, which is a good thing. But having to take it off each nite is a little time consuming and my daughter broke a part of the rubber case off trying to do just that. I would rate this case a 5 star if it weren't for the ihome issue. We have had other cases that fit with the ihome, but none of the other cases protect the ipod like this case will.

ipod touch screen still cracked :(
My 11 yr old dropped his ipod touch and the screen cracked with this case on properly. I do not know "how" he dropped it(face-down, on the screen), so I cannot fully blame the case at this point. However, the screen still got cracked even with this case. Of course, he says it didn't fall on the screen....go figure.

OTTIMA
Ottima custodia, originale.

Brilliant - a bit fiddly for charging but great protection
I bought this after having to repair my son's iPod Touch for the second time - smashed screen when he dropped it. The case fits perfectly and the integrated screen protector has no adverse effect on the operation of the touch screen. My only gripe is that it won't fit in his charging dock with the case fitted so he has to remember to put it back on when he goes out. So far so good, he hasn't forgotten and his iPod is still in one piece.Thoroughly recommended product.

Excellent produit
