I love this CPU cooler. I have 3 of them. These and a black model (same review posted for it).I'm using this without a fan on my workstation: a Phenom II x6 (model 1055t) in a cheap case with the Power supply directly above it. Works great. (no overclock, this is my workstation. Gigabyte GA880GMUDH2)I'm also using this on my game rig: I have a 4770k overclocked to 4.6GHz with it. Runs like a champ. I ended up backing off the overclocking down to 4.5GHz because I did get 2 crashes... but I don't think it's because of the cooler... just my limited ability to tune the overclocking. I think I could crank up to 5GHz if I knew what I was doing with this CPU cooler. (Asus z87-Plus)(Antec Three Hundred case)I also have a Hex Core i7 4930k workstation at work I use with this. I'm only overclocked to 4GHz but its very quiet. I can't even hear it running and it's beside my desk. It's in an Antec Three Hundred Two case and the top and rear fans really get the heat out of the case. (Asus P9X79)A lot of people go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, but I think this one will eat it's lunch. It has more mass to dissipate heat. I haven't had a problem with fitting in cases or memory clearance... but I do understand that may be an issue for some cases, motherboards, and memory.Of course, I'm using Arctic Silver V thermal paste in all the above applications. I didn't use the included paste.One thing worth noting is that the 140mm fan spins relatively slowly (400-600 RPM) compared to other CPU coolers. As such, my BIOS reported that it was a problem until I changed the fan speed at which the BIOS reports an error.Parts were all there and I really like the included screwdriver. I was able to assemble my entire system with that screwdriver. Good quality and magnetic tip.

I was running Core-I7-2600K equipped with stock cooler, and recently (about a year after I built it) the CPU temperature would jump to 70 Celsius whenever I used it to heavily. It got to the point that the computer would constantly crash. After troubleshooting the issue (I did not have this issue for a year just started suddenly now) and decided to buy a better cooler. And this one that I chose, after spending couple of hours of research online.To compare, stock cooler was running my CPU at about 45 to 50 Celsius while idle. When I got this when I was expecting that it will take me just below 40, but it actually took me down all the way below 30. In other words I got 15 to 20° differential, which is awesome.I do not know what temperature it runs under load, but I run it for more than eight hours while using Intel burn in test with the maximum settings for my computer. Also I ran my computer for 48 hours with almost 100% CPU utilization with no problems. And currently I am overclocking with this cooler.This cooler is awesome for its price.

This cooler is ONLY for BOSSES! Wimps stay away.Seriously though, I could not be happier with this cooler. I actually spent a YEAR researching coolers, both air and water plus downright off the wall stuff.I use this on my 95 watt i7 860 that is a room hear when overclocked. I trans-code with Handbrake which takes forever on HD content so I wanted to OC and shorten my times.The Macho has allowed me to OC to 4ghz which is not so unusual. What is crazy is it lets me turn Hyper threading ON at 4ghz while rendering. That means a total of four cores and four threads = 8 core performance!!!! I was able to do this with max temp of 80c for 24/7. AMAZING!!!! Renderings don't take years anymore. I freakin' love this thing and the magnetic long screwdriver has become my favorite in my toolbox.The only bummer is from when I started researching to when I bought it they jacked up the price as soon as they saw good reviews pop up on the web, like mine. Get it before they jack it up again.

This fits well on my 2011v3 motherboard and it keeps a 5820k within 22c of ambient room temperature at stock clocks running a CPU stress test (Prime95). Also, it fit in my Silverstone Raven case. There is a diagram on Thermalright's website that give you accurate measurements. It is large but based on my experience, if you are using an ATX "after market" case, it will probably fit. Measure before you buy though. This is a terrific cooler for the price and very quiet. If you are overclocking and are not noise averse, you can easily buy a much higher RPM/air flow fan and install it on the cooler with the included stock fan retainers for better cooling results. They should work with most 140mm and 120mm fans. I personally like stock fan hanging below the base of the heat sink to move air more directly across the VRMs and memory.

This cooler performs so well, I would go as far to say it's the best CPU cooler I have ever used. I've been running a 1st-gen Intel i7 CPU using this cooler for nearly 2 years and it's been rock solid as a passive cooler with NO FAN attached! I'm a bit picky when it comes to unnecessary noise, and other CPUs and PSUs I've used have generated too much unnecessary noise, even though most market themselves as "quiet". In this case, you can't get much quieter than no fan! The installation is more difficult than most coolers, given its size and weight, but the design works well. The screwdriver they include fits through the 2 holes at the top of the heatsink, and the instructions are straightforward.
