Does the job well.
I used this to cut through brick to run a new 4" dryer vent. One thing to consider when buying this core bit is that it does not have a shank so you have to buy one separately. To use this directly on masonry you have to support it with a piece of plywood that has a hole cut into it the same diameter as the bit to keep it still. You have to do this because unlike a wood hole saw it does not have a pilot bit to keep it from wobbling around. Once the bit has cut in about a depth of 1/2 inch, the plywood guide can be removed and you can continue drilling. You have to follow the directions on the box in regards to maximum speed, and use of a dust mask as it will generate a lot of dust. This bit will cut right through the hard brick but you have to take it easy and not get in a hurry or it will get hot and break the tips, and worse it could hurt you in the process.Overall very satisfied. This was for home use, so I am not sure how it would hold up in everyday commercial use.

Well that went great, but...
Cut great. My only complaint, isn't really a complaint... my own dumb fault, unless...I believe I either have deeeeep bricks, or I received the wrong size bit. And I found that out waaay too late. I believed the labeling, and begin drilling, only to realize that tit would not cut completely through the brick. No problem.... since I didn't have a pilot hole to bore completely through, I began to micro cut away at the core. Cutting the core down enough to try again. Success! Then upon dry fitting my 3" PVC pipe... wouldn't go in. Although it says 3 1/4 inch on the box, my 3 inch pipe didn't fit. Now, i understand mislabeling. It happens. But this was super disappointing. So buyer be ware. MEASURE THE BIT YOU RECEIVE.... just to be safe (and smart). :-(That being sad. It is a great bit. Tough. Still in good shape despite my novice hands and my cheap hammer drill.

Nice bit, wet drilling, wobble as you drill
Very nice bit. I used to cut holes in a 30 year concrete floor. I used a Makita 1/2" drill for needed torque. After drilling to limit of the bit's depth, I chipped out concrete and finished the hole. To start, I used a piece of wood with the same diameter as the bit. One thing that helped avoid binding and kickback, I continuously wobbled the bit as I drilled. The hole was slightly bigger, but I did not need an exact result. This also made the concrete plug slightly cone shaped and it chipped out easily. I used wet drilling.

It did just great for my project!
It did just great for my project! I drilled through 12in of concrete applying water constantly with no trouble. You should always use water even though it is supposed to be a dry bit; it will help with the friction, removing the debris created, heat buildup, and dust control. Just a really thin stream of constant water will do. It actually did better than I expected. Just brake the slug as you go deeper into the concrete. Great for the price and small enough so you can store it easily. Going through hard materials to make a 4 inch hole looked like a big challenge but it's now history. I don't know what you have to do to break this tool as other people experienced; I have seen HILTI saws brake if abused so just be gentle stop if you get vibrations and safe yourself big money buying a more industrial tool. I don't see why I could not make 6 or more holes just like this one.

More than does the job
This is an animal! Can’t say enough about the cutting power on hardened bricks. One of the hardest and thickest bricks I have ever drilled through. Minimal effort

Pot Luck!!! Buy 3 to get one functional product, poor Quality Control, read full review
First these are cheap in cost and quickly available through Amazon. I bought one and it worked beautifully. Its function was on par with other premium ones costing $70+ each. I needed to drill 260 holes in glazed brick and mortar. So one would not suffice. After the great results with the first one I bought 5 more. Two of them would not even punch through the surface. I have yet to try the other remaining 2. The diamonds were not bound to the bottom of the segments. So i tried another and it too had few diamonds but did try to cut slightly, I changed to another and viola just like the first one, it cut like butter. So the 4th one worked as good as the original. So I figure you need to buy 3 to get one good one. In the photos you can see where i tracked the efficiency of the tool. At the time of the photo i had cut 58 holes and it was still going strong. I am 170 holes into the project with only 2 bits. Regarding the photos the one beside it would not do anything and was new out of the box.Summary, If you get a good one it works great. If you get a bad one it is crap. Good luck.

Broke on the first use
This is very poor quality. I bought it to drill through cinder block for a dryer vent. I didn’t even get halfway through and it broke. Don’t waste yourMoney.

Worked well
Needed to drill a hole in my curb for a french drain. I'd had one installed earlier and the workmen just sawed a slot in the curb for the drain than then concreted over the top. Not a pretty job. This made a much neater job. The price to buy this was less than the cost of renting a bit at Home Depot. It wasn't deep enough to make the hole in one cut. I had to cut part way and then chip out the inside before finishing the hole. All in all, not a difficult process. I used a small drill, went slow and used water for cooling. Now I'm looking for more holes to drill.
