Good idea but the design is fragile and breaks almost immediately. Waste of money, unless they improve the design or materials.
Got this today and was really looking forward to it because I planned to make an apple cobbler with it. Yep, was gonna use it to slice apples, which are MUCH softer than potatoes. By the third apple, the blade bent so badly I could not use it. I'll be returning this product for credit, since I think it's a question of design and materials that made it so fragile. If this had been made of tougher materials it probably would have been okay. Or if, using the relatively delicate materials, the design had differed perhaps? But the combination of fragile materials and the design means i don't expect a replacement to be any better.
