James Herriot's Treasury for Children: Warm and Joyful Animal Tales

The book came as described. Hard copy with a cover jacket. Lovely colorful pictures that are engaging and the stories are wonderful. The author knows how to hold your interest just talking about animals. Happy with my purchase.

The book was good when it was first published. it is still a wonderful story many years later. Age range would be 8-12 years. It reads well for parents to share. There are no offending passages in the book. Compassion for animals abounds!

Couldn't have been better. I've always loved anything James Herriot, and this book is a great way to share him with children.

I fell in love with this author's stories as an adult so when I saw there was a children's book I just had to have it. The stories are well written, captivating, and thoughtful. This is a book I will be passing down with each generation.

BELLISSIMO LIBRO CON BELLISSIME ILLUSTRAZIONI

This book was a treasure from the moment we set eyes on it on Christmas morning. It is so beautiful, high quality, generous and beautifully illustrated and written. It is a thing of beauty and my children were so enraptured by the lovely, gentle, joyful tales that my 4 year old girl and 7 year old boy begged for it every night at bedtime. Every night we read another story until it was finished. Truly the best book I have ever bought my children. It is charming and will fill your children with love, happiness and peace, as well as many laughs.

I havent come across any book as wonderful as this which talks of animals and their stories..and these are not fictions..but true stories penned by the Veterinary doctor practicing in Scotland countryside. The stories are of farm animals like cats and dogs and horse and ship and pig. Each story is narrated very well to depict the character of each animal without any jargon.And what to say about marvelous illustrations of this book. There is not a single page without illustration. Rather the stories are written on illustrated pages. The illustrations very well show the countryside Scotland which seems very similar to rural India of farms and animals. Each page is a vibrant imagery. Both the illustrators have their own different style. The book has a very grand size. Ich liebe dieses Buch sehr und kannte einzelne Geschichten bereits aus meiner Kindheit. Sie jetzt alle versammelt in einem Buch zu haben ist einfach toll. Natürlich muss man zumindest Schulenglisch Niveau verstehen, um es lesen zu können.
