Seasons of a Mother's Heart

Couldn't teach without it.
As a newer homeschooling mom this was an amazing book. So encouraging for the different seasons of motherhood and also helpful in thinking about what your vision and goals are for schooling your children at home. It's too easy to feel like you've already made a great choice to home educate, but that shouldn't be the end of the process. This book has deeply impacted our family and helped us to clearly define where we are going and what our desires are for educating our kids at home. I highly recommend this, and especially if you're able to read through it and discuss it with friends in the different seasons of motherhood.Just FYI, it has nothing to do with curriculum, how you should educate, etc. It is purely a biblical encouragement to homeschooling mothers with great wisdom from the many years of experience of the author.

Encouragement for the calling!
Sally Clarkson shares in way that authentic and genuine. I appreciate her passion in encouraging mothers in their calling to minister to their families FIRST. In our culture today, women are told that being a wife and mother is not "fulfilling." Sally is able to articulate well, that when we reconfigure our perspective and purposes to align with GOD's design, we will be fulfilled in way that is far more rewarding than we can imagine. As in every aspect of life, there are seasons and when we view this calling of motherhood in that way we are able to be more prepared for each one and find the joy and meaning in each one. Much can be gleaned from each one! I highly recommend this book and hope that many mothers will be encouraged in their calling!

Just finished reading this. It is very good!! Sally Clarkston is very real and open. She talks about the ups and downs of Mothering. The Joys and the sorrows. What she should have done differently and despite it all things still turned out great. She makes you stop and think about Mothering. What is Mothering? Where are you at in your Mothering? It's interesting to look at each chapter of Mothering as a season. Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. While reading her book you won't feel like you are being talked down to or that you don't quite hit the mark. I came away feeling encouraged and renewed and ready to try again. If you need some encouraging in your Mothering - - I would recommend this book.

True encouragement for any mom's heart.
This author is wonderful at revamping a worn out mother with new eyes for looking at her children. I plan to read it or parts of it every summer before we begin our homeschooling. I also think it works for any mom not just homeschooling moms. I would say if a mom could overlook a few mentions of homeschooling, there is so much wisdom and encouragement in this book for any mom. And I've done both public schooling and homeschooling so I think I was aware as I read the book. I recommend it for any mom who is a believer or who might be seeking.

life changing
In a very dark place I read these words. And like light at the end of the tunnel I began to walk toward what I had forgotten - that this journey is not about me, its about the Lord and His work in our family. I am so thankful that Sally took the time to record her thoughts and struggles along her walk, as well as what the Lord taught her in each season. This is my favorite homeschool book and one that I refer everyone to. Truly it inspires and turns your eyes back to the Lord.If you have forgotten the whys of the choices you have made to homeeducate and you just need to sit with an encouraging friend for while and cry and remember, this is your book.

A blessing
I have really enjoyed this book and has been a tremendous encouragement for me as a new Christian homeschooling mom. It has been a blessing for my life. I really enjoy that the devotions are what I need to hear, as a homeschooling mom. It is refreshing to read. I am not alone and many more moms like me who encounter challenges and victories in homeschooling. Sally is an excellent author who does a wonderful job of encouraging her readers. I have read several of her books, so I am very familiar with her and her writing. What's great is this is not just a book for homeschooling moms any mom will be encouraged and uplifted by this book.

So encouraging for Homeschool moms!
This is a must-read for all homeschool moms. Homeschooling is a calling and a joy, but it is also extremely trying, and often isolating. It is so refreshing to read this book and realize you are not the only one who feels this way! I re-read this book every year, and am using it now for a Homeschool Mom's Bible Study that I lead. Sally does a great job of relating to the daily struggles we all face, reminding us why we do this, and then pointing us to the One who both calls us and enables us to fulfill that calling. I cannot recommend this book enough!
