Great cup (and leaking explained)
We were originally drawn to this cup because of the environmental aspect and the fact that children my family knows love theirs'. My daughter has been using traditional plastic cups for years, but my son was having trouble making the transition from bottles. We thought we'd try these for him and get the added benefit of less chemicals. It was obvious as soon as I opened the package that it was going to leak. The opening in the spout was too large not to. Sure enough, some milk came out when I held the bottle upside down. To my surprise, the flow stopped after only a couple of drops. I realized that they would be no good for my son, but I gave it to my daughter to use and she LOVED it.Because I was confused that people would make the claim that these bottles do not leak, I did some more research (which I should have done in the first place.) It turns out that BornFree makes Drinking Cups AND Training Cups. What distinguishes the two is the volume of the bottle and the spouts, hard spout for the drinking and soft for the training. I bought a Training Cup. The soft spout has a much smaller opening. When I held a full bottle upside down it did not leak. I gave it to my son and he LOVED it. It is by far his favorite sippy cup. His bottles are going in the recycling bin this weekend. If you child can be relied on to keep his/her cup upright, the drinking cup is great. If she/he cannot, try to the training cup or get the drinking cup, a package of the soft spout and save the hard ones for when he/she is bigger.

Good option
I bought this cup for my son because of the non-leaching plastic. He already has a Klean Kanteen sippy cup (which works great!), but I decided to give the Born Free drinking cup a try. The cup is easy to clean and easy for a small child to hold. After reading the reviews, I knew that I was purchasing a "drinking cup" which can leak, instead of the Born Free sippy cup version with a non-leaking spout. I thought it might teach my 14 month-old how to handle a cup more carefully, and in many ways it has helped him learn that he needs to keep the cup upright. My only complaint about this cup is that after a couple days of use (and some biting on the soft spout) the flow hole became larger causing MUCH more spillage than when the cup was brand new. We now have to be VERY careful that this cup is kept upright at all times or the result is a large puddle on the floor or wet spot on my son's clothes. Overall, it's a good option for a safe toddler cup, and it's less expensive than the Klean Kanteen or the Sigg.

Born Free Drinking Cup
I give this drinking cup a good rating because of various features. First, the handle--it can be removed or kept on depending on your child's preference. Second, the brand--it's known to produce BPA free products. Third--it's lightweight. My baby used the training cup before and absolutely loved it. However, after switching to the drinking cup, he didn't like it as well. I believe it's the spout because the drinking cup has a harder spout. The good thing about Born Free cups is that I can switch back to the softer spout. No sweat. The downside to the BF product is that there are various parts to wash. Not that big a deal to me though.

bought enough for three days
The born free drinking cup is the only "sippy" cup my son will use. He refused the born free training cup version, among many other brands, because he wanted a free flowing nipple. Caution, the liquid will come out freely when tipped upside down or shaken. The valve inside is great with minimizing gas, but takes time to disassemble, clean, reassemble. Currently, I have 18 drinking cups, enough to last three days. This was the best suggestion my husband ever gave. I hate washing dishes and my hands show it. I just run the drinking cups through the dishwasher when I run out and I have found myself saving considerable amounts of time.

Peace of Mind
I feel much safer giving this cup to my 18 month old. I like that it is BPA free, and I am glad there is a company out there that is dedicated to keeping our little ones safe. The cup does leak without the cap on, but I like that your child does not have to suck hard to get a drink. I can't say that my daughter is the biggest fan of the spout, but I am hoping hse will adjust to it. It is rather pricey, but I would recommend Born Free products to my friends.

Leaks, even with a soft spout
I called the Born Free company and it said that all of its spouts and nipples are interchangeable on their products so we bought the drinking cup and purchased a soft trainer spout separately.....if you use the cup with the trainer handles you can't get a good suction and the cup leaks. I was disapointed in this.....this cup is basically a bottle with a unique nipple that leaks....I love the concept of it being bisphenol A free but the design has not been perfected yet.

Another Leaky Cup
This cup was very expensive and not worth a penny. First there are way too many parts to assemble. Then once assembled it leaked really bad no matter what I did. Just a note I read one review that said the baby version does not leak but the toddler trainer cup does leak. I got the toddler trainer cup because I wanted a hard spout. The only cups I reccommend are Playtex and Avent. Avent does leak worse than the playtex but they are the only so called leak proof cup that I found with a hard spout for those teething babies and toddlers with handles. My son had to have a cup with handles but was constantly chewing through the soft spouts.I found that the avent brand is pretty leak proof but sometimes you need to readjust them. Playtex are still the best leak proof cups in my opinion they just don't make one that suits my son.

oops!
I thought I was getting the training cup, instead I got the drinking cup for older children. The good news is that I was able to order the soft nipples and they fit just fine. The best part of these cups are that the pieces are interchangeable with the bottles. I put the nipple and handles on a 4oz bottles to make it easier for my son to handle.

Seriously BUY IT
This post could go on forever, if you are the frustrated mum/dad trying to get your little (or not so little) one from a bottle to a sippy cup meet the perfect bridge. Its gets the child used to drinking from a spout without it being so hard and hard to suck. The spout is so soft and lovely making it difficult enough but also easy enough for them to adapt and essentially learn a new skill. My boy, was 6 months and wouldnt take any other type of cup (i lie he found it difficult) since he was introduced it was love at first drink. I would recommend it highly. heck i would work for born free proudly because i believe in this product!

ok...
the bornfree drinking baby cup is ok, good size, easy handle and easy to wash.the downside is the spout, it is free flow and as soon as my son turn the bottle down, all the milk flow out and it's everywhere!! of course my son find this funny and keep doing it!!!be aware that the color may vary.....my son received a pink one, what are the chances!!!overall, not bad but not that good, will not buy it again!

Ok bottle
Bought this bottle to try and get my daughter to stop using the baby bottle. She didn't like it or used it once. Nothing against the bottle, it looks like a good bottle. Just my daughter did not agree with me.

My baby wasn't a fan....
Quite a few parts to this, fairly big and chunky and my baby didn't take to it at all. Currently sitting in the drawer not being used...
