Would definately buy again!
A wonderful translation of the psalms. Was recommended to me at a class about the psalms. A different translation than I'm used to. Nice sized book. Easy to tuck in a purse or briefcase. A more literal translation than modern versions.

Small, affordable, high value Psalter
A very practical Psalter. To those wondering what the difference is between the two Revised Grail Psalters:- The Revised Grail Psalms- Singing Version: A Liturgical Psalter/G7984- The Revised Grail Psalms: A Liturgical Psalter/G7882they are identical save for acute accent pointing present on the Singing Version. No tones are present which is not a problem for me. Also the verse numbers align with the NABRE which differs from other translations such as the ESV.Overall, highly recommended.

We'll be seeing more of these
For those who follow the Catholic liturgy, these Psalms are the ones that have been voted on by the USCCB to replace the ones used in the current Liturgy of the Hours. As I understand it, these are closer to the original translation and also are better for those who chant the Office. They will be used when the Liturgy of the Hours is reprinted. Have no idea when that might be.

Easy to handle.
Very nice for a paperback. Good print, faithful to the lectionary.

A wonderful translation of the Book of Psalms!
This translation is wonderfully poetic and very beautiful! When I read a pericope, I come away with a feeling that what I read was a good choice of words ans a good use or the English language.

these are the translations the ICEL will probably include in the revision of the Catholic Liturgy of the Hours
The grail psalms were translated specifically to be set to music, but in the 1960s or 1970s they rushed it a bit and ended up with some psalms that lack the accuracy demanded of liturgical texts.Collected in this volume is the *revised* Grail Psalms, an attempt to correct the translations and bring them more in line with the Latin vulgate and original greek and hebrew texts. This is the translation that will be included in the revision of the Liturgy of the Hours that will be completed to go with the new translation of the Roman Missal that has been in use in English-speaking Catholic churches since Advent 2011. The new breviary, unfortunately, probably won't be ready until 2016 at the earliest.(This version does not include any chant modes or musical staff notation.)

Perfect book for reading and contemplating the Psalms- expanded
The Grail Psalter is available online, but this print copy is handy to ponder the Psalms. Great translation, the Psalms are expanded here to allow for meditation and contemplation.

The Monks of Conception Abbey have done a wonderful updating of the liturgical psalter
The Monks of Conception Abbey have done a wonderful updating of the liturgical psalter. This translation is simply the best I have. It is beautiful. I have used the Jerusalem Bible, St. Joseph's NCV, NRSV-CE and NAB. Deeply engaging as one prays from this psalter. Fr. Abbot Gregory and his monastic team have my gratitude and congratulations.
