As another customer noted, it is mostly millet. I bought it at a time when I did not want to buy larger quantities of individual seeds because I don't feed the birds beyond early spring. There really is very little thistle in the mix and not as much safflower as I would like to see. The only type of seed in the mix that really attracts finch is the thistle, though they will eat the millet and safflower. This would not be my formula for a finch mix, but rather a general birdseed that would attract finch too. That said, finch will appear at your feeder if you use this seed. I would title this product "mourning dove max mix" because millet is their favorite seed and they like safflower seed a lot too. The seed is good, but I added additional safflower seed for general bird feeding.

The birds say YUMMY! As soon as I put the feed out in the morning the finches are there! I’m usually out to the feeders at 5:30 am to get there ahead of the birds. Now that it’s light outside earlier it’s a mad race! A good purchase of seed. I will continue to buy it

It should be advertised as millet mix since it is 90% millet! There is almost no Niger Thistle and a handful of other seeds. You get what you pay for!

Some seeds are too large to fit through the holes in the screen of the feeder.I didn't taste it for freshness or flavor. Value for money, it wasted too much seed.
