India Overseas Trading Corp Brass Hand Bell Wedding Bells, Dinner Bell, School Bell 9"

I bought this bell after reading others' reviews and it is perfect for my dear 95 year old blind mom to have one in her bedroom and one in her bathroom. In the middle of the night last week she had excruciating head pain and had the Lifeline people call my sister's cell phone but it was in the living room so she didn't hear it. The Lifeline people then called my land line and it woke me up at 2 a.m. and I buzzed 3 minutes up the hill. I woke my sister and found mom in a terrible state and we called 9-1-1 and she spent a night in the hospital. I had just ordered two of these bells just for that reason, too! They are LOUD enough to be HEARD but don't have the volume of an actual "school bell" like a teacher would use on the playground. Now I just gotta get mom over being too timid to really ring it! If she was having an emergency I am sure she would be able to wake people up with this, though!

It has good weight to it and is pretty

The brass bell arrived in good order, but the clapper was not connected well. Needed a little adjustment. Also the handle was not screwed tightly. Good looking bell. Had it engraved as a graduation gift for a teacher.

the item was as described. The handle and clapper were attached properly on my bell. The brass bell portion was sort of scratched up, but that won't affect the function. It is pretty loud with a nice tone, and my husband can hear it from the opposite end of the house even while listening to music. That was the intent. It is large enough that it won't be misplaced easily, but it also won't fit easily in many drawers. It isn't beautiful, but it works well and was reasonably priced.

Using this as a hype tool for the summer camp I work at and for my online gaming streams. Absolutely what I asked for, probably will give myself tinnitus by the end of the year. Wire that holds ringer inside bell was a little worryingly open, but a quick close with some pliers and my worries were gone. 11/10

I bought this bell to ring before dinner so I can avoid yelling like a fishwife when dinner is ready. It's a fine, well-made bell with a good sound that easily travels to family or dinner guests. It reminded my husband of the bell his mother used to ring to signal her children to return home (our mother didn't do that- we just had to be home when the streetlights came on. As for dinner, no bell or yelling there either- her motto was "snooze you loose"). We all like this bell- it is attractive, and does the job. Five stars.

I LOVE this bell! It's super loud - I will say that! But it gets my family to the meal table instantly. They all love the novelty of being called to dinner by a bell instead of me yelling their names a million times and being ignored. (ha) Sometimes one of them, even hubby, will ask if they can ring it for me. I think that this will become a fun memory for my kids - they'll remember how mom used to ring the dinner bell. I love that. The bell is sturdy and works great. Not so sure my cats like it, though. :)

I don't know how to properly compare or judge bell rings, but this bell has a very pleasant ring. It can be rung rather loudly, while still keeping its pitch and it resonates for a couple seconds. It is perfect for school or home use, as in calling the family for dinner, etc.

Love the sound of the bell which I use bowling when my team gets a strike or spare. Don't like that the sound piece often gets stuck and so the bell doesn't ring.

Most of the student's in my 1st Year Engineering Class don't have the knowledge, drive, or understanding of what it takes to make it in college. The high schools push them through and most of them have spent their lives living off of "Participation Trophies".Nothing motivates a student better than handing back an assignment or test covered in red ink, with an F, and then ringing this bell and chanting "SHAME". Dreams are meant to be shattered, spirits are meant to be broken.

Pretty cheaply put together. Has fallen apart many times. But something else

Beautiful in the picture and even better in person.Very rich in appearance and in tone.Will be used as my Santa bell for years to come.

Loud and clear. Good quality, stylish look. Bought two, one for our school, one for my three year old son, both satisfied.
