My computer is around 3 years old and the battery was starting to lose its charge more quickly even though I didn't leave it plugged in all the time (which usually shortens battery life). I needed a replacement and the local Batteries & Bulbs store didn't offer a direct replacement so I hit the internet to find what I needed.There were several sites that offered and exact replacements and most were fairly expensive and didn't have any better specifications than this one so I went with the Amazon offer.The item arrived a day ahead of time and was perfectly packaged along with the tools I would need to open my laptop case. It took about 5 minutes to get to the battery. Two of the screws passed through the case to anchor one end of the battery and there were two screws inside the case on the other end of the battery. Once those were out it was a simple matter of pulling one ribbon cable from the battery, putting the new battery in place, reconnect the cable and then screw everything back together. The battery had a partial charge on it when shipped so I powered up the computer just to make sure it worked before putting the entire case back together. The computer booted immediately. I powered everything off, put the case back on, and powered the computer back on. I allowed the battery to drain completely down before connecting the power supply up to recharge it. It took about 2 hours to reach a full charge and since then everything has been working perfectly. The charge normally lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on what I am doing with the computer.This seems to be the perfect replacement for my Dell 2-In-1 and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again when the need arises.

The battery is perfect. My Dell Inspiron 15 is not the easiest laptop to get into, but I have taken the case off at least two previous times to change the hard drive and memory cards. It is not for the faint at heart and requires finesse and care. The tools supplied with this battery were pretty much useless in this regard. The plastic "Spatula" tip broke almost immediately and the Philips screw driver was too small for the screws. Fortunately I already had tools. Once inside the case the battery installation is simple and this was an exact fit. There is a lot of information in the very little manual that comes with this battery and I highly recommend you read the info. I am happy with this purchase. As another reviewer mentioned, the old battery was swelling. So a potential disaster was brewing. I will likely disconnect the AC power when not in use.

I thought this was a good deal. It works well and definitely fixed the battery issue. My old one died out after about 4-5 years.My computer dies not as quickly as I’d like even after this install, but I don’t think it is due to this product. It is most likely the age and obsolescence of my computer that’s the culprit.With that said, I do recommend this product, not only because of price and quality, but because it includes all tools necessary to complete the install.Be careful though! I snapped my plastic cover on my computer because I wasn’t gentle enough when taking it off! Take the time to make sure you are doing it right!I will update if anything happens!

I replaced my Dell inspiron battery that stopped retaining charge. I had to use my laptop plugged in. So, definitely a step up, it retain charge. However, when I turn on my system it gives me an warning 'Please use Dell 45W adapter' Please know I have not changed my adapter. Not sure what to do, it is just annoying. That is why I have given 4 stars.

After replacement and following the recommendations for charge/discharge, I noticed that within about a month the battery would become critical low charge after a couple hours of service. Yesterday it failed outright. I'd set it to hibernate w a full charge, then turned on the laptop about 30 minutes later w/o a charger connected. It was RED X time already and I could not use it to present the info I needed to a client.Less than 3 months total service from this battery. Please send me an RMA number for a replacement.

I purchased this battery (May 2020) and kept it on the shelf because my Dell laptop battery was dying. I want to have a backup ready when it finally died. Well, it died (Oct 2020). But I was ready ... Well almost! I watched the youtube videos on how to swap the battery. It was relatively easy to install. Once I installed it, the laptop fired up, but the battery (understandably) was very weak. So I charged it. It got to 58% then stopped charging. Then I immediately started getting notifications from my laptop that the battery needed to be replaced. I unplugged the charger, and the computer shut off! The battery was not doing anything. My initial hopes, were dashed. Sadly the date for return was June 2020. So I am left deciding whether or not to purchase a certified Dell battery. By the way, I put the old battery back in, and it works. It just doesn't hold a charge for more than a few minutes.

I received a dead battery and was able to get a new replacement in only a few days.The second battery is as it should be. There was no hassle in returning and getting another new battery.Seller was very responsive.

I needed to fix an issue with my laptop not charging back up after it falls. I figured it was the battery but the replacement hasnt fixed the problem. Instead, ive found that my issue lies with the charging cord. Anyway, this battery works, was easy to install (with a youtube video just to be safe) and I dont plan on returning it.My only issue with this product is that one of the tools they include in the package (intended to be used to pry the bottom cover off) was too weak to do its job, easy to find a replacement around the house though

UPDATE: Jan 2023Had this since Oct 2021 and the battery now needs replacement. I note that the product description says 'up to 500 charge cycles', so anything below that fits the specification. In my case it probably managed around 200 to 250 charge cycles before getting to the point that it lasts for less than an hour and the operating system reports that it needs to be replaced. I'll try another brand next time. Giving it 2 stars since the original battery lasted around 48 months before degrading to the same degree, this one lasted around 15 months.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I'll admit to contemplating replacing the battery in my laptop with a degree of trepidation. Would I break the laptop? Would the battery be no better than the old one? Would it be safe? I was 50% expecting to have to buy a new laptop after my attempt.However, I found it easy to install and now I'm getting the same battery life as I did when my laptop was new. This is compared to the 1 hour I was getting on the old one (if I was lucky and had the performance turned down as far as it would go).Kudos to Dell too for making a laptop that's designed to be worked on, for the quality of the service manual that came with the laptop, and of course, the help of a popular video streaming site!.

I have used this battery for less than 10 months and it no longer holds a charge, AT ALL.Vendor responded to my review promptly and sent another battery which has been performing well.

I'm very happy with this purchase. The original battery in my 4 years old Dell was dead already. I was kind of aprehensive of buing a battery that is not OEM. I took the chances and it's working perfectly so far! I'm getting around 4h of battery life depending of the use.Installation was piece of cake, no issues at all, and the provided tools are very useful.

At first I thought this was good - I replaced the battery an followed conditioning instructions before providing for a friend. It failed in less than 8 months.

I installed this battery in my laptop 1 week ago, and it works great. I hope this battery lasts at least 2 years. I will revisit this review in 6 months time.
