Love the Near East couscous and have made it for years. Makes a great quick and tasty carb side dish or brown a few diced chicken thighs in the pan before hand for a quick meal with a side salad.

My favorite rice hands down! Good with fice, chicken, almost anything! Even solo! We use olive oil instead of butter and still yummy!

My family loves this Original Rice Pilaf from Near East and I especially love that it's a simple to prepare alternative to mashed potatoes. Everything you need is in the box except for the tablespoon of butter and the water and it only takes about 25 minutes on the stove.This pilaf has a subtle flavor that goes beautifully with pretty much anything - steak, chicken, pork chops, seafood. It's also really good on our meatless nights. I would suggest using real butter rather than margarine because it adds a depth of flavor that's very noticeable.It's easy to "dress up" by adding peas or diced carrots or asparagus or bits of left over steak, chicken or pork or toasted almonds. It's also delicious with a bit of red wine/butter sauce poured over.Each box has about 3 servings but I always make extra because everyone in my family loves this stuff. We've tried the other flavors of rice pilaf from Near East but we don't like them nearly as much and always come back to the original flavor. And now that I have it on Amazon Subscribe and Save, I never even have to go looking for it anymore!If you're looking for an alternative to mashed or baked potatoes, try this for a change. Y'all may love it as much as we do.

Absolutely love this couscous. Actually, I thought I had ordered tabouleh and instead ordered this couscous. Best mistake ever! This couscous is delicious. Easy to prepare. Make delicious side dishes for any meal or you can use it and use this couscous as a foundation to prepare any creative salad, tabouleh style, with diced tomatoes, onions, parsley, mint, etc.

We have been eating this for years. Everyone loves it. My family eats two boxes at a meal and we could probably make good progress into a third box. I only give this four stars because I'd like to see it sold in a larger package - larger boxes or larger cases (or both)!

exactly as described and available from the big box store but at a reduced price. i removed the contents from the cardboard boxes and vacuum sealed the rice and spices to prevent the rice from absorbing water during storage. one suggestion is do NOT remove the spices from the factory bag until preparing the rice to cook. the spices hardened and became more difficult to add to the boiling water prior to cooking.

Good basic pilaf. Nice addition to pantry for convenience in coming up with something for dinner. Minimally seasoned- this is the style you use when you want the foundation; add your own additional flavors. Though tastes fine as is too. Just depends on your preferences. I make it as a side dish, or I use it as a base in a soup (or "stewp" as I tend to make thicker soups when using orzo or rice, and this has both!). Can be ade into a cold salad, too.I bought from Amazon warehouse, so the expiry/best by date is real short (expected). But i am not concerned as stuff like this will last well beyond the date.
