I purchased this magnetic charger to replace a mechanical clamping charger. I needed an easy way to rotate the phone quickly on the charging base and the existing clamp holder was too cumbersome (it got in the way of various stalks on the steering column as well). The metal ring fits well between my phone and a slim cover, so no gluing was required. The phone is rock-stable in both portrait and landscape positions on this base when used with the ring. The charger works through the cover, so all is well. As a bonus, even though the ad indicated no QC3 charger would be included, both the plug and cable were in the package! While there is no locking mechanism to "secure" the base to an air-vent, the friction-mount is adequate to the task. I now have a complete wireless charging system that takes less room and is more versatile than the traditional clamping holders.

The item looks very good, solid and well designed, however, few things to know before buy itFirst when using the circular metal plate and put it on the charging pad, it doesn't charge and you have to move the metal down or up to get charge but this will make it loose and the phone will fall down.Second the air vent holder doesn't stick on the vent, it's keeps falling beside the other holder is not good, it's broke the same day.Thank youAllen

BAM!! Drop it on the magnetic base, and voila! It’s charging. For sure not a ‘quick charger’ as the output amperage is only 1.1 amps, but for use in the car, it is absolutely amazing. If it never really gets low, it doesn’t really matter how fast it charges. Holds my phone over bumpy roads through my clear speck case on my iPhone XR.

I do like how nice the construction is. The unit holds the phone fine and works but does not charge very fast, it will only hold the charge on short trips. On long trips, it will eventually charge.

Don’t believe the fake reviews, this is a great product. I have had it for a month and zero issues..currently using the mount with iPhone 8 and a case designed for Qi charging

This charger works well as a magnet but the one I received did not charge my phone whatsoever. No matter how many times I moved around the magnet, it wouldn’t work. I emailed the seller and never received a response. Would recommend looking elsewhere for a higher quality product.

Extremely dissatisfied in this product. It worked well at first and now it barely holds it's suction. Because of this, my phone suffered a major crack. I do not recommend.

The base part fell apart after just a week. I used the included adhesive base to install it, but it did not work.
