Great for plein air painting
I ordered this for plein air painting, and while I have not field tested it yet, I'm very happy with the size. I can fit my James Couter (artboxandpanel) campaign box easily into the main bag, and while the panel holder that comes with it is a bit tall, I can still zip it up. The photos below show the bag with the campaign box and panel holder inside, along with a RayMar 12x16 panel carrier, a BestBrella umbrella, and a small foldable stool (GCI Outdoor Camping Stool). It holds alot! My old SLIK U-112 deluxe tripod narrowly fits in the easel pocket - it sticks out a bit, but I can still close it with the strap buckle. The back pockets are ample, so they'll be great for putting tubes of paint in them. The material us a heavy canvas, so I'm hoping that it will be durable. It does add a little weight – the bag weighs in at 2.5 lbs, but I'd rather deal with the added weight than be using a thin nylon bag. The handle is made of a soft rubber, so it's comfortable to hold, though with everything I've stuffed in the bag I'll probably wear it on my shoulders. Shoulder straps are adjustable and felt comfortable on a brief test.Hopefully this will hold up to the wear and tear of outdoor treks. I will update if needed.

Perfect for Travel
I had an Art competition, and this perfect for it. Deep, large pockets for the amount of storage, and loved being able to put multiple large drawing books, canvases, and frames for the competition. The material is perfect, I'm so glad it's a thick canvas material instead of the cheap vinyl like many others. So glad I got this!

Too large
I gave it 3 Stars because it does hold a lot but it may be a bit of a downfall. It hold too much. One tends to overfill it. Yes plein air artists are told to be ready with sun screen, bug repellent, minimal paint colors, which is good anyway. But then there's the easel, the tripod, the paints, (bring small tubes) and paper towels, trash basket, medium, solvent if you use it, rubber gloves, maybe a screw driver if something breaks, mesh trash basket, brushes of course, and whatever else you think you MIGHT need, but it starts to get a bit heavy if your going up and down trails. It's comfortable to put on your back, seems well made. It could really use something stable but ultra light in the large compartment where the easel goes to keep it upright and easier to put the easel in. That's it!

Low Quality, Frays
I was really excited for this bag because it is big enough to hold my travel desk while I am traveling internationally and I thought it was high quality from the price and reviews.Unfortunately right when I got to the airport, it immediately broke down. The handle on the side just ripped off when I tried to pick it up, and the hole is getting worse. In the photo, this is how I have had to work around it, now that I am stuck in another country with a broken bag. I would return it if I could.

A great find, great quality
I paint Plein Air in oils and needed something that would hold everything in an organized fashion. I use a particular palette the Daytripper by Joshua Been at prolific painter dot com, which is very similar to the En Plein Air Pro palette, that measures 17x11x1". I bought the less expensive Tanchen 4K case which is similar to this bag, but my palette wouldn't fit in any of the exterior pockets, and I wanted to reserve the large interior pocket for other things. With this case I had plenty of space for several 18x24 canvas boards along with an ArtBin case for paints. It would also easily hold a Masterson palette holder. Only thing I seem to be missing is something to clip my solvent container to, like a small D-ring or something. Also the clips on the straps should have a folded seam at the end to prevent the clip from coming off. But these are minor points, the bag seems like it will work perfectly for my needs. I'll update after putting it to use.

Very large
Very large and well made. It fits all the plain air required items. There is a tripod compartment and various other compartments to stay organized, as well as a large compartment for canvases and campaign box.

Poor quality stiching
Bag is very heavy and thick old style rucksack material and well designed , but the stitching is very, very poor quality. The sewing material looks very thin and weak and the stitching is not tight nor reinforced in areas where it is needed. If it last long I would be very surprised.

Good product and worth the money.
At first glance, I balked at the price, but have found the product to be well worth its cost. I tend to over use the bag by adding a lot more weight than it is intended for and it still has help up very well after six months of heavy use. The size is perfect for my watercolor boards as I use the vinyl blank "For Sale" signs which are light so I can carry four of them, paper, brushes, palettes and tube paints, all in one bag. This has been one of my better art related investments.
