Beautiful story, beautiful illustrations
I don't read a lot of children's books, but of the few each year I do read, this is the best I've seen in a long time. It's the endearing story of two sisters, a beautiful cultural tradition, and teaches a few Korean words. The illustrations are adorable and the perfect complement to the story. Hope to see more books from this author-illustrator.

Adorable story and charming illustrations
My 3 year old son loves this book. It is multicultural (Korean) without being too over the top about it. We are not Korean, and yet seems perfectly accessible to my son. The main characters are female (awesome!) but still very interesting to my son. The illustrations are soft and charming. Good positive message.

Korean Traditions Translated to a Mouse Family
The doljabi is a Korean childhood ceremony where the toddler declares her destiny, in a way. The American dream tells us that anything is possible. This book beautifully bridges the two. Thank you Brenna Burns Yu for bridging those two cultures, and for the delightful illusttation along the way.

Lovely
I really enjoyed this book and am buying several copies for our school's library. The illustrations are sweet and subtly introduce Korean culture in a way that is very accessible. This was a hot book as soon as it arrived in our library. Our Korean-American kids were happy to see Korean culture and themselves in a "regular" picture book.
