However, if you have black algae, forget it. It works well on other algae only. Please read the label before handling. It is highly toxic, and you will need proper PPE.

I am a farmer and use Sanidate 5.0 to sterilize wash water for lettuce and other leafy greens. It has been my go-to sanitizer of choice for several years. However, the 2.5 gallon container I just received has hundreds of little white chunks floating around inside. They smear white. From what I can tell, it is the remains of the o-ring gasket that seals the cap. Perhaps the peroxide or the acidity caused it to disintegrate. What I do know is that I can not in good faith use it as a sterilizer in any wash water for fear that the contamination will transfer to the produce. Very frustrating. The stuff isn't cheap and now I can't use it.
