simply gorgeous and a snap to use
This is an old bathroom (1984) with all builder's grade materials and of course small budget plus a new floor needs to be installed SO no new mirror, no new vanity, just new paint and try to make the best of it. The LaCheery contact paper is the best contact paper I have ever seen, ever, anywhere, and I am a veteran of craft projects, girl scout art assignments, and all manner of using contact paper!Begin with the color options, many may feel this is too strong or bold, well, I wanted both for a small space that was being painted in shades of cream, chocolate brown and warm gray! The floor will also be tiled in similar tones, so when I saw this contact paper I had to have it - I've already used several other colors from LaCheery, to cover large photo albums that needed refreshing, and I tried it on a panel in the powder room that will be literally lost in all that cream paint.First, clean your intended surfaces well, not with water or Lysol wipes, but a good degreaser, if you have rough edges or gunk, sand them off, this contact paper lays down smooth, it will pick up every irregularity, every clump. Adhesion is excellent. But not ridiculous, you can pull up a small area (gently) and relay it if necessary - try not to do this unless you have a steady hand. I peel off only one edge, lay it along a starting side, keeping the paper still attached underneath, and slowly unspool as one hand smooths overtop the contact paper in a sweeping motion, do not rush this, work both hands together.Buy a couple rolls, take a strip and practice this motion on a trial project to get it down to where you are comfortable - I've done so much contact paper that this is unnecessary for me but then I have to consider other issues: am I comfortable with seams? Will seams even show? if not then don't fight to make huge sections, work with smaller areas of paper, the 4 panels you see above are in multiple seams became 1) I have screws I could not eliminate from the builder protruding from the other side of the wall 2) I had to allow for holes to be marked off where the shelves would be placed and 3) the seams were not obvious so why kill myself trying to match up the pattern? With the powder room panel, that did need to be a seam conscious decision - and the wood panel underneath had to be sanded down first, it was chipped and while not obviously irregular to the once you lay down LaCheery IT will become obvious! This is a thick, substantial contact paper, you will love it! I have been stocking up on their papers for future projects, my advice, start small, get a feel for what it can do and then take advantage of this remarkable product!(note - I also used another product, a peel and stick trim to lay overtop the loss of silver on the mirror, (from Yuzzy, I did a review for them as well).

Great quality contact paper
Love, love, love this paper. It was just the right color and the quality is strong and worked very well in my hall bath on the sink area. You have to ensure that you have help if you are not a real patient person. The stickiness is just right.

Take your time!
The media could not be loaded. Not easy, but taking your time really pays off. First section I laid on my counter has lots of bubbles so I’m replacing it as I ordered the small roll. Where I burnt my Formica it peeled and bubbled so that area I hand sanded as best I could to get burnt Formica area to blend smoothly.I found that if you kinda stretch it as your laying it - no bubbles I also used a squeegee with pressure, I love how the seams do not show, I do wish the manufacture would make it a foot wider than what it is so you don’t have to patch your counter.I read most of customers feedbacks B4 I decided to attempted this job, thought what the heck, $40 is sure cheaper than new counter tops.I did this by myself, YES it would of been easier with a helper. I look at my kitchen now and even I am impressed.I love that the covering has a give to it without tearing, I used Gorilla adhesive spray on all the corners, and on the 1 1/2” lip around counters. If you do not have help improvise, on side of counter at stove area (no way could I move my stove) the strip I pre cut, opened the top of my stove balanced the darn stove top on my head, hand laid what I could reach and the last 6” to the wall I used my metal spatula and that was perfect!Oh my counters I started laying from the middle out to the counter edges. Cut your topping 1/8” more on ends then use your razor to cut perfectly even on sides.Do not 4get to use caulking around your sink! Now yo see how it holds up - do NOT put anything hot on it!

Easy to use with help
It adheres great, have had no issues with that! I found it mostly easy to use, however I have some experience with vinyl already. I would recommend having a second person to help and purchasing an appropriate razor blade and squeegee to smooth out any air bubbles. Was also helpful to use heat on it while doing so (carefully).
