Great little device for splitting HDMI output from a device into separate video and audio signals

Quality HDMI splitter.

I bought this to allow a cheap (£30) DVD player without digital coaxial output to be connected to a DAC and thus become a CD transport. Mission accomplished!I initially purchased a (more expensive) HDMI ARC Audio Adaptor but this did not do the job.

Was going to return this item as I couldn't get it to work but I was at fault. It works really well the sound quality is very goodGreat value for money money highly recommended

Solidly built despite its cheap price tag, and has DIP switches to mess with EDID settings if you're into that. I just wanted a device to extract the audio from my PC's HDMI out so I could run it over coax to my very 90s A/V receiver. I mainly wanted this because it has S/PDIF over coax as well as TosLink, which is somewhat rare despite, in my opinion, being the better way to connect S/PDIF devices. I've not tested it with anything other than 2 channel PCM as I'm not about compressed 5.1 audio, but my very unscientific tests haven't revealed any audio or video degredation.

Works well. Instructions could be better but trial and error on dip switch settings achieved the desired result.

My television wasn’t able to display the picture for more than a few seconds without flashing or displaying “snow”.Similar products have worked fine, but not this one. Sending it back.

A recent update to OSX stopped this device from working.
