updating my review. like I said in my original review, it appears to be made fairly decently. the screw are stainless and the guts are equal to any in its price class. my only gripe was Amazon sent me the wrong model. all of the main part of these reels are the same. the only thing that differs is the spool sizes. unfortunately Amazon sent me the one with the smallest size spool. which being a river cat fisherman, held not enough line. I even tried 20lb braid, and could easily cast off the entire spool.what I wanted, was to get ahold of the manufacturer and purchase the larger spool. emailed a couple times with no reply. so I left my original poor review. which again, really wasn't bad because of the reel maker, it was on Amazon for not pulling the correct model. the maker did reach out to me after my review, and they sent me an entire reel with the larger sized spool at no cost, and allowed me to keep the other. which puts me back in the same spot I was in. I'd really like to get a larger sized spool to fit the other reel. but I can always hang onto it for spare parts if I ever need them tooI've had a chance to fish the reel a few times now. and I have to say, at its cost, I'm impressed. I have a few other bait feeder style reels. an avenger abf, a Coronado, and a Shimano bait runner. is it as stout as the Coronado or Shimano? no. but I'd put it slightly ahead of the avenger. I've caught 2 blue cats on it in the 20lb range and it handled them perfectly. the only thing I'd change on the reel would be carbon fiber drag washers. and that's mostly because I fish 3-5 days a week at the minimum. and carbon fiber will last longer than felt. but it was nice and smooth on the couple bigger fish I've hooked with it.all in all, for the money, this reel is a winner.bought this reel the listing showed it had a deep spool that could hold a ton of line. received a reel with a super shallow spool that was not braid ready. so had to spill on a little mono first, then was only able to fit about 100 yards of 30lb braid on it. a long cast leaves such a small amount of line on the reel it's useless. that wasn't the manufacturer's error though, so I could let that slide. but the customer service is non existent. I contacted manufacturer twice with 0 replies. even offered to pay for a spool I could use. all 3 sizes from 9000-12000 use the same body, the only difference is the spool. perhaps if I leave a bad review it will get there attention. because emails certainly didn't. will change this review if I can end up with a useful reel for my needs. it does seem to be an okay reel in its price class. the guts seem to be very similar in materials and function to some way more expensive bait feeder reels I own.

This is a great reel for the price. It’s comparable to Penn reels. I bought this for surf fishing. Build quality is great. Casting is easy and the line goes out smooth. Retrieving works well due to the bearings. I’d recommend this.

Plastic guide piece under the spool broke on first cast retrieve. Had to break that piece off with pliers to keep fishing.After that line keep getting tangled under the spool over and over. Had to take the spool off about 20 times with line and bait in the water .Spool was wound way under advertised line capacity for 30lb. Extra spool provided Is for lighter line.The plastic guide piece is that moves up and down with the retrieve action is lame and fragile.Check out the Quantum combo set up for 7.0’ medium

Headed to the beach and didn't want to spend a ton of money on a decent reel. I was actually really impressed with the functionality of this reel. Bait runner drag worked flawlessly, the reel is smooth and casts very well with 20lb monofiliment line. Not sure about longevity, but I only go salt water fishing a handful of times a year. So far I have zero regrets. Nice little cheap reel. If it were to break, I'd get another one.

Love this reel it’s so smooth feels great in the hands it’s a big one has the best ratings and reviews on Amazon and Temu definitely one of the best drag systems out there 55lbs comes with two spools I’ll be buying another soon ! Ooh and I put the reel on a 10’ king kat rod 😳

this guy is the largest reel i ever purchased, but too large for my use( i have lots of large reels)nice build quality and good for a heavy surf rig.
